Default Protest Michigan Trump Republicans RO-Monday, July 24- Duggans Pub

"A conservative group recently formed to support the policies of President Donald Trump is planning events throughout the state this summer to drum up support for the current administration."

Are we ready to fight back?

#MDPAN is planning a small counter protest in response. We need to ensure that Duggan's and other local businesses understand the cost of openly endorsing fascism. We will assemble on Woodward with signs

Fascism??? Clearly you do not know the definition of fascism. But go ahead and have a silly little protest. It will only serve to reinforce what got President Trump elected in the first place.

Any place where the 50s is celebrated like Duggans might not be the best place for a rally against Trump, I was there Friday and the only news station on besides sports was Fox, I looked at the screen and it said "Mainstream media pushing Russia narrative", I said since when is Fox not mainstream media.

    I mean, we're getting there...

I agree. CNN [[Communist News Network) has been making up such blatant lies for so long,.. only unthinking hard-core leftists will still watch them.

Their ratings are down so far,.. they're barely half of little Fox News now. They're not even in the top 10 for cable news.

Their lie and hate filled communist agenda has made themselves into a fringe station, while little Fox News continues to grow.

Still,.. they're not even 1/3 of "Mainstream" stations like NBC [[and disgraced Lester Holt)

    NBC News 7,79 million viewers
    ABC News 7.53
    CBS News 6.24
    Fox News 2.20 million viewers
    MSNBC,.. 1.69 million
    CNN,...... 1.12 million

To be honest most liberals/progressives don't watch CNN. They watch MSNBC but mostly they read independent media like FiveThirtyEight or Vox online, some including myself listen to NPR a lot.

There are many legit criticisms of Donald Trump as both a person and as a President. I have more than a few from a conservative/libertarian perspective. But it is absolutely silly to refer to him or his supporters as fascist [[as Sy noted, please reference the definition of fascism). Also, a word of advice: hysteria neither advances nor illustrates intelligent opposition. But it does make for a good laugh, thanks. One further note: Duggan's is a fine establishment. I have enjoyed food and drink there more than once over the years. I will patronize it in the future, regardless of what is on the television.

Duggan's Pub, home of the Little Chef and cruising cars, is supporting facism????

NPR's agenda has become so slanted, I wonder how they manage to keep their coffee cups from sliding off of their desks.

Can you provide proof they advocate for a revolutionary takeover of the US government to institute a proletariat state based on the principles of Karl Marx?

Or is everything communist outside your own worldview because you can't produce analytical and critical thought to explain the world and instead use talk radio and right wing propaganda websites to do that for you?

If this is anything like last weekends protest, then these protesters need to exercise some tolerance. I was at Starbucks last weekend watching them parade past yelling "no Trump, no fascist, blah blah....!". A bystander was handed a flyer but he responded with "I actually like Trump". They totally ripped on him. I just had to laugh.

The #Resistance is tolerant of everyone. Everyone who agrees with them.

Your fake "definition" of fascism aside, here is the word "fascism" as defined by two of the leading sources of word definitions:

    Miriam Webster- https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/fascism

    Dictionary.com - http://www.dictionary.com/browse/fascism?s=t

Nowhere do they mention anything about "right-wing".

I will submit to you that it is the extreme lefties who are behaving in a fascist manner these days. Just look at the hissy fit they had when Ann Coulter was booked to speak at that bastion of liberalism UC Berkeley. The lefties smashed windows, started fires and generally staged a riot.

The same thing happened when Milo Yiannopoulos was slated to speak there which is most ironic because Milo is gay and the libbies profess to love gays.

It seems that the party of acceptance and tolerance is quite intolerant, and tries to suppress viewpoints that are in opposition to theirs. And that, my friends, is one of the tenets of fascism.

Your definitions you posted don't exactly help your argument. In fact the first one says that a key tenant of fascism is nationalism, something most Trump voters would be proud to espouse. Something Germans did 80 years ago that lead the deaths of millions of your people, Sy. The "left wing" don't usually support nationalist tendencies and to tie them into fascism would be incredibly disingenuous to political theory and history.

My "fake" definition wasn't written by me but in the traditional left-right spectrum, it's assumed fascism falls on the right.

Don't act all innocent that extreme right wingers are so peaceful and tolerant loving. All that shoving and pure hatred of the face of audience members we saw during Trump's campaign. To have the hate in their heart they do for the Clintons is simply un-Christian, I'm sure most of them consider themselves.

And for the record, I think Trump is too stupid and weak to be a fascist dictator.

But I'll pray to my God tonight I don't eat my words.

The 'left' is generally about individual freedoms and supporting the people as a whole body.

The 'right' is generally about denying freedoms that don't agree with their plans or visions and giving special privileges based on income, perceived worth or status within the structure while denigrating those that don't fit in.

SyGolden48236, search for "right" in the very webpage to which you linked and you'll find this:
...1. any ideology or movement inspired by Italian Fascism, such as German National Socialism; any right-wing nationalist ideology or movement with an authoritarian and hierarchical structure that is fundamentally opposed to democracy and liberalism.

    2. any ideology, movement, programme, tendency, etc, that may be characterized as right-wing, chauvinist, authoritarian, etc....

Whereas communists are considered left-wing, fascists are usually described as right-wing.
It is not true that "Nowhere do they mention anything about 'right-wing'"

It just dawned on me that the right can feel ashamed of itself! <gasp>
