Any time I hear the words "Polish" or "Poland", my heart skips a beat. The prettiest women I ever met in my life all had maiden names that ended in "ski". Sigh. Thanks for the memory!

not all Polish names end in "ski"; that was an affectation originally adopted by the Nobility but later added to many other names.

My purely-Polish maiden name has often been mistaken for Japanese or Chinese - used to get free fortune cookies from Kow Kow Chinese restaurant every Chinese New Year!
