Default Anthony Marrocco - failed Macomb County residents ?

Should Anthony Marrocco have his feet held to the fire
for lack of leadership and proper infrastructure ?

Marrocco spent $ 1.95 million in the campaign, and lost the position.
Obviously he truly wanted to stay on, and fought hard to win the spot.

Started career via member of the Chippewa Valley School Board.
Marrocco served several terms on the
    Macomb County Board of Commissioners.
Elected Public Works Commissioner in 1992.
    Largest Wastewater Districts in Michigan,
serving 500,000 residents in 11 communities.
He was a commissioner on the Huron-Clinton Metroparks Authority.
Completed six consecutive four-year term as
    Macomb County Public Works Commissioner

If that's the case, every other politician in Michigan should be held to the same fire alongside him.

Macomb County is hardly alone when it comes to crumbling infrastructure.

    What are the allegations?

I hate republicans, but I must say that Candice Miller seems to be doing a much better job than Marrocco.

A dozen employees have testified in front of the Federal Grand Jury downtown answering questions about former Commissioner Anthony Marrocco and other top official, Dino Bucci.

Contracts worth millions of dollars and was paid in an unusual manner.
“On every ... one of the invoices, it says:
‘Give the check to Dino’ or ‘give the check to Marrocco.’

Macomb County Executive Mark Hackel said the invoices were “highly unusual.”
“No other department sent a check that was hand-delivered to somebody,” Hackel said.

I look at the person and not the party. I've made many bone-headed voting mistakes because of my party prejudices. Never again. Neither the Democrat nor Republican parties are anything close to what grandma and grandpa supported back in the day. They are two totally different animals now.

Plan on Marrocco being added to the
    sinkhole lawsuit

A judge agreed today to add Macomb County and its former public works commissioner, Anthony Marrocco, among others, to a lawsuit filed by Sterling Heights over who should pick up the tab for a major sewer collapse on 15 Mile Road in Fraser last December.

Marrocco isn't of the hook just yet......

The records, for the first time, publicly mention Marrocco in a criminal investigation
that has led to charges against his former right-hand man, Dino Bucci.

Modern politics is nothing but a cesspool of corruption. And the taxpayers always get stuck with the mess. No real difference between the parties these days. All about money and power.

When it impacts infrastructure like Drinking Water and Toilet Flushing, then it all hits home, with a personal touch Macomb County could do without.

Many in Warren suffered financial loses over the years due to flooding issues, primarily because the open stormdrain channel concept fails.

When open channels are full, the streets can't drain, the soil gets hyper-saturated, putting hydrostatic pressure on sewer drains and then it pops up in basements.

I'm surprised Marrocco hasn't been charged yet. A friend in Macomb said he can't be found. Glad the FBI is keeping folks in localities above board on this one.

The long arm of the law again dips into Macomb County...
Marrocco arraigned, released on $100K bond

Ex-public works boss faces federal corruption probe

"Anthony Marrocco was released on a $100,000 unsecured bond during arraignment Monday in federal court in a corruption probe in which he is accused of extorting money from builders and developers during his long tenure as Macomb County public works commissioner.

"Marrocco, 71, of Ray Township, is charged with two counts of extortion and one count each of conspiracy to commit extortion and attempted extortion in U.S. District Court in Detroit.

"The bond amount was atypical, normally it's $10,000, but a representative from pretrial services said Marrocco's financials are assumed to be much higher than a typical individual coming through federal court."
