Bust I think you are overestimating the amount of effect the Russians had on influencing the election. I doubt many people read about Hillary's health issues on RT news. ( Though perhaps they should have in the U.S. media.) Most could tell you about Bruce Jenner or what ever he/she is calling themselves now though.

Russia won with Hillary in the State dept gaining control of part of an Uranium mine and some Oil / Gas interests. Why did she start comparing Putin to Hitler after the Clinton foundation took millions from Russian business? Mabey they ran those stories in retaliation for her insulting Putin? Did she think that rhetoric made her look tough? I think she was playing to her buddies in the military industrial complex with hopes of weapons sales to Nato. ( That is irrelevant now anyway as the deal is with Saudi instead.)
Both sides of the isle have business dealings with foreign entities that should be examined and prosecuted. The problem is they are the ones that write the laws that govern their own behavior.

    Cool meme

78% of Saudi crude goes to the shipping industry, the rest for their domestic use.We play as their guardians to keep a foothold and to protect the shipping industry so we can buy cheap foreign goods.

Imagine what would happen real fast, if they turned off the tap.
In pun, they kinda have us over a barrel.

we used to get 70% of our oil from Venezuela, through Citco which was Venezuela gov company. We supported that dictatorship until fracking came into play and crashed it quick.

Comey was lead prosecutor in Whitewater, where everybody but the main players went to prison.

I also kinda think the whole Russian part was brought in play by Hillary in order to appeal to the older voters,50 and up,because most of the younger generation has no clue about Russian politics and the Cold War,they just kinda think the idea that the government provides every thing for free is a good one.

Doesn't seem like a coincidence: Russia Today published all kinds of articles raising suspicions about Hillary Clinton's health in the days and months leading up to election day. There are pages and pages of Google search results of them. Did you see any of these?

    https://www.google.com/search?tbs=cd...A11%2F8%2F2016
The stories about Hillary's health were all over the internet. I didn't see any of the RT coverage on it. I only watch it once in a while.

Hillary lost because of Hillary. She didn't need the Russians to help her lose. She didn't have the support Obama had, so how was she going to win? Millions left the Democrats after the cheating in the primaries. Here are some videos from the Democratic convention last summer. People were pissed off. I think I posted these before, but here they are again for people who need a reminder.

Thank you. BOTH parties need to take a long hard look @ themselves and ask themselves "What would drive people to vote for someone like Donald Trump?" There's a big fat message in there, but I'm sure it's been lost on the current boneheads in office.

It is common knowledge that all of the racist, homophobic, wife beater tee shirt wearing, tobacco chewing, ussy grabbing, anti Muslim, anti terrorist, gun toting redneck hillbillies driving raised 4x4s flying the confederate flag and whatever else one can think of,is why Trump is in office.

Has nothing to do with self reflection.

I voted "for someone like Trump" (and definately will do again) because the Republicans are totally inept; as personified by the chief "inepters" McCain, Ryan, McConnell, Bush (and those women from the East Coast) etc., and the democrats (ALL of them) who are just plain assholes (and Socialists, which are worse) who only represent their chosen racial groups and themselves, and hate success unless it's their own.

Trump will get things done, and the members of the swamp want to stop him because they don't want us to realize what crap they have inflicted on us for the last 30 years due to their non-action (like food stamps and illegals rather than infra-structure).

Caitlyn Johnstone, "rouge journalist" at hackermoon.com? Seriously?

FBI said Russia interfered in our election.
CIA said Russia interfered in our election
NSA said Russia interfered in our election
Defense Intelligence Agency said Russia interfered in our election.

Republicans in Congress have conceded and do not dispute that Russia interfered in our election.

The ONLY people who still cling to the lie that Russia didn't do anything wrong (aside from Putin, of course) are Trump and his supporters on the Internet.

Also, if you are getting your news from Russia Today, you're a brainwashed fool. It's literally state propaganda, funded directly by the Russian government.

WOW! NEWSFLASH! Other governments try to do what we do to them!!!

There is evidence of hacking attempts but no evidence of change to the outcome of the election. Trump won.

Be careful of what you believe from the CIA, NSA and FBI. They all have a history of disinformation, lying and incompetence. Remember yellow cake? Remember Prism?

You would think with all the information they have, they could have prevented one terror attack, but no, sadly they couldn't. Unless they have another purpose???
But hey. CNN, MSNBC and the Washington Post must be right.

There are progressives and independents who don't believe it either. Did you actually read the article?

I don't think Donald Trump had anything to do with colluding with the Russians. His son-in-law, Jeff Sessions, and especially Mr. Flynn, is another matter. His treatment of Comey, a possible quid pro quo offer, and the timing of his subsequent firing are all on Donald Trump. He has admitted that he fired Comey because of the Russian investigation. His juvenile and insane twittering has only made the situation worse. At this point, the only person blocking his platform of reform is himself.

Follow the trail. Your swamp was drained and replaced with 'Goldman-Sachs Pond'....a kettle of financial billionaires. The banks are being deregulated again. The great health care he promised won't be. We preach climate denial to the world at our own expense. 70 year allies roll their eyes with contempt. I know none of this will convince a Trump supporter. It's like talking to the Halle-Bopp followers of politics. As an American, I think the only current 'deep state' is one of severe ignorance. JMO

They'll be another Bernie. It might take 8-12 years, but this time he or she will actually be a millennial...and you won't recognize America when they're done.

Good post. I tend to think you are right. I am disappointed that the sixties didn't really do much to bring about the deeper social progress policies that other western countries did. I think like a lot of Americans do that the Dems and the Reps are colluding with the lobbyists to keep the capitalist train rolling unimpeded.
A lot of folks on here are gung ho on socialist policies being all about taking away from people because they have had their brains shampooed all their lives. Let's make America Grate Again is all about that. Kick sand in my face.

That last statement has me quaking in my boots. We don't need socialism in America. We need leaders that make though decisions and spend hard earned dollars on American interests. We don't want universal health care or a nanny state. The swamp wasn't drained as the deeply entrenched interests on both the right and the left have planted their choices in Donalds cabinet. The 70 y.o. allies are not rolling their eyes at us, they are too busy entrenched in a fight for Europe. Climate change by man is such a small factor and CO2 level increase is a lagging factor to temp not a leading indicator. A reduction in output will have very little effect on temps. One Mt. Pinatubo or a Carrington sized event from the sun will cause more problems for earth than man can in a 100 yrs. But hey you can smoke and feel better.

The sixties had the desired effect that the radicals wanted. We got a more hedonistic society. Now those radicals have tasted power and they like it and don't want to relinquish it.

We don't want universal health care
A majority of Americans do want this.

I think the majority voted for Trump because of his promise to repeal the A.C.A. which he has reneged on and said would support a replacement for , as well as his immigration policies and his pledge to bring jobs back into the country.

That would be the article published by Caitlyn Johnstone on medium.com? You DO know that websites like medium.com are not actual media outlets, but rather online publishing platforms where literally anyone can write anything they want and publish it without that information being independently verified or fact-checked by anyone (like an editor would at a traditional newspaper). In short, it's a blog site. Nor is anyone ultimately responsible should the information contained in those "articles" be, well let's just say, not so factually accurate?

If I write an article and publish it on medium.com today and link to it here, will you believe it? Because I can very easily do that and it will be equally as valid as the article you linked to and will literally come from the very same website.

Except, of course, a majority did not vote for Trump.

The CIA, FBI, and NSA never said Russia changed the outcome of the election, only that they "interfered." Which is EXACTLY what you just admitted they did. "There is evidence of hacking attempts." Your direct words. The FBI and CIA didn't attest to anything more than that, so you're seemingly in 100% agreement with them.

My question is, if you think the FBI is lying, the CIA is lying, WaPo/CNN/NBC/NYT are lying, Comey is lying...literally EVERYONE is lying, then that must mean you think Trump and Putin are telling the truth then, right? So my question is, why do you think Trump is telling the truth and literally everyone else is lying? Do you honestly believe Trump is trustworthy? This man lies as a matter of routine. He spouts lies that can be immediately objectively proven to be lies and he does this on almost a daily basis. He lies compulsively and habitually. But you believe him?

And of course, Putin is a very trustworthy guy as well. I totally believe him over James Comey.

Facts are inconvenient to some people. I would also point out that not only did Trump not get a majority of the vote, he didn't even win the plurality of the vote.

Interesting reading the comments there from a year ago.

I think the biggest problem is that in this country, health care is so ingrained towards profit,it will take 30 years to implement a universal standard health care system.

At best chip away, the VA,Medicaid,Medicare everything that seems to somewhat mimic a healthcare system is always wrought with problems. Why would a doctor give up a 300k a year practice to make 1/3 that,I have known a few on the research side that were paid $350 k a year to stay home.

Why do you have to be 100% in one camp or the other.
Trump is no saint. Never said he was. The point is that those lettered institutions such as the F.B.I. and C.I.A. etc. have their own motives that surprising to some people might be not in the U.S.'s best interests. Think Power / think money.
Who just made a huge weapons deal with the Saudis and why? Which politicians have relations who are contractors on that deal? Which groups have gained power and money over the healthcare industry at the expense of the doctors who have to deliver this f'ed up product. How did the people benefit from having A.C.A. insurance with a higher deductible to meet before it kicked in while meanwhile insurance companies reaped higher profits from government backed notes to pay? How do we benefit from higher immigration quotas that get aide while veterans have a single payer healthcare system that is a shambles?

He won by the rules of the electoral college. That is all that is required.
