No longer even a matter of "if" at this point, but simply "when." Trump himself has provided Mueller with all the rope he needs. I predict Trump will be out of office within 12-18 months.

And I'm sure Pence will just be an awesome president huh?

Good one, Pam. It resonated with things I've been bumping into. Joe McCarthy would approve. Who would have guessed that censorship would be privatized? When shopping malls became the new Main Street, some freedoms of speech and petition were left behind. Amazon, Twitter, Facebook, and Google just ramped private censorship up. I've been noticing Fake News feeds on Facebook lately including 'Great Big Story', ATTN, and BornRealist Tech that are total propaganda made to look like news. Europe and Canada have already lost a lot of free speech legislatively. We are so far dealing more with a privatized version of censorship but it can also lead to loss of one's job and silencing dissent. I mostly avoid politics on Facebook but would like to wean myself off of Google.

Robert Mueller just indicted 13 Russians and 3 Russian entities for interfering in the 2016 election [[and violating U.S. laws to do so).

    https://www.cbsnews.com/news/rod-ros...tream-updates/

    https://news.google.com/news/amp?cau...ions#pt0-62108

Meanwhile in other news, one of the four Americans already indicted by Mueller, former Trump campaign deputy Rick Gates, is finalizing a plea deal with Mueller and is expected to turn state’s evidence and become a “cooperating witness.”

    https://www.aol.com/article/news/201...robe/23363308/

This would make 3 for 4 now for Mueller with guilty pleas, with only Paul Manafort being the lone holdout to not cut a deal.

It will be difficult to charge Russia for exercising 1st Amendment speech. However, it looks like some Russians used false identity to do so. Prosecute for that. Then prosecute every other illegal non-citizen who used false IDs for jobs and benefits. Prosecute Hillary for illegally transmitting state secrets on her personal computer and giving Russia, China, Iran, and kids in their mom's basement easy access to them. Speaking of betrayals; prosecute employees of government departments who conspired against the Trump campaign for good measure. I hope Obama knew something about the weaponizing of government agencies. The most difficult part of Mueller's job must be to act outraged while pretending the US doesn't interfere with other governments and even overthrow them while tapping Merkel's phone and spying on Americans. Mueller lied in Iceland making him a good choice for Deep State Sheriff.

The indictments make it a lot harder for the few of you here who keep denying there was any Russian meddling and dismissing the investigation as BS.

    Same goes for Trump.

Indictment Makes Trump’s Hoax Claim Harder to Sell

"WASHINGTON — He brushed it off as a hoax. He mused that it might be China, or a guy from New Jersey, or “somebody sitting on their bed who weighs 400 pounds.” He said President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia had assured him it wasn’t true. And, he added, “I really believe that when he tells me that, he means it.”

President Trump has never stopped belittling the charge that Russia meddled in the 2016 presidential election. But on Friday, with the indictment of 13 Russians for orchestrating a vast, well-funded operation to interfere in the election, those denials collided with a mountain of evidence arrayed by the special counsel, Robert S. Mueller III.

For Mr. Trump, who has tried to discredit Mr. Mueller’s investigation as a politically motivated witch hunt, it was a direct assault on the version of reality that he has sought tirelessly to create.

By laying out a meticulous case for how Russia tried to tip the electoral scales toward Mr. Trump in 2016, Mr. Mueller has made it much harder for the president to dismiss the investigation as mere politics. He may also have made it harder for Mr. Trump to fire Mr. Mueller himself, since, as some Democratic lawmakers argued, that would look like an attempt to help Russia further undermine American democracy.

Before the charges were announced, the deputy attorney general, Rod J. Rosenstein, briefed Mr. Trump and Donald F. McGahn II, the White House counsel, and handed over a copy of the indictment, according to a person briefed on the matter. Mr. Mueller was not present at the briefing.

On Friday afternoon, after Mr. Trump left Washington for his Palm Beach, Fla., estate, the White House issued a defiant statement claiming that the investigation had uncovered no evidence of collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia."

The rest of the article is good reading too.

    This part is especially depressing:

"Mr. Trump sidestepped the fact that he has stubbornly denied Russia’s interference, even after two assessments by the nation’s intelligence agencies concluded that Russia had meddled. Last November, during a trip to Asia, Mr. Trump said that Mr. Putin had told him that Russia did not meddle, and that he was inclined to believe him.

“Every time he sees me he says, ‘I didn’t do that,’ and I really believe that when he tells me that, he means it,” Mr. Trump said. “I think he is very insulted by it,” he added, “which is not a good thing for our country.”

Mr. Trump went so far as to suggest that the heads of the intelligence agencies at the time of the 2016 election — John O. Brennan, the C.I.A. director; James R. Clapper Jr., the director of national intelligence; and James B. Comey, the F.B.I. director — were less trustworthy than Mr. Putin.

“I mean, give me a break — they’re political hacks,” he told reporters. “You have Brennan, you have Clapper, and you have Comey. Comey’s proven now to be a liar, and he’s proven to be a leaker, so you look at that.”"

At least House Speaker Paul Ryan seems to understand the gravity of Russia's actions. “The Russians engaged in a sinister and systematic attack on our political system,” he said. “It was a conspiracy to subvert the process, and take aim at democracy itself.”

But that was reported in the Times. So, you know, "fake news."

    Trump says so.

Facebook estimates fraudulent Russian posts reached 126 million Americans on just that one platform alone. If you're on Facebook you probably saw them.

But that was reported by Reuters.

Digging deeper into this, an analysis of Russian Twitter bots shows their primary intent is to divide Americans and to instill distrust of our political systems. Like Trump does. There has been a recent sharp uptick in their promotion of the "deep state" narrative too.

    But NPR.

    Duck and cover. Facts incoming!

Don't worry, if that's what you're afraid of there are places you can hide.

Perhaps you think you're better served by Russia Today. Or the Russian agents masquerading as Americans on Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube. Propaganda is what they promote. Does it feel cozy and warm?

Fox is a good safe space for the fact-averse too. It feels like facts. But they pick and choose and frame the news they present to fit their carefully constructed narrative. The one their loyal viewers want to hear. Except when an occasional guest inconveniently tells the pesky unscripted truth.

Secretary of State Rex Tillerson told Fox News Russia is already meddling in next year's midterm elections.

But that link was to CNBC.

Perhaps the most upsetting of all:

Despite evidence it is already happening, FBI Director Christopher Wray said President Trump hasn't directed him to try to stop Russian efforts to meddle in our elections.

But that report was by The Hill.

Trump says we can't trust the media so that makes it all still a hoax, right?

Some will believe that, if it makes them feel good.

Tough to keep the narratives straight.

Currant president wins the election, the cry that he colluded or worked with the Russians in order to win the presidency.

The meddling in the election process by the Russians in order to sway votes to the Sanders and Trump campaign via social media was a process that every country does, the only thing different is that we are now seeing how they do it.

Russians meddled in trying to disrupt democracy just we meddle in other countries trying to install democracy.

The meddling is totally irrelevant in theory because nobody had a clue that President Trump was going to win,the polls all showed that he was not going to win and the Democratic Party did their part to make shure Mr Sanders was not going to win.So why would they continue to spend time and resources on somebody that clearly had no chance of winning.

So what is worse Russians doing the same thing that they have been doing for the last 100 years,or our own Democratic Party underming the Democratic Process to gain power.

We can deal with Russians but how do we deal with the internal threats that work towards undermining our democracy?

We can figure there are now going to be some countries out there that can now publicly indict the United States for our meddling in the future.

But as the saying goes, you can indict a peanut butter sandwich and it is going to take a lot more then stating the obvious which is easy to do because we wrote the playbook.

The goal of internal and external socialisism is to spread that agenda, the goal of democracy is to spread that agenda, why is everybody so shocked to learn about a process that has been going on over 1000 years.

Hmm, very thorough of the FBI regarding this, as pronounced this Friday. We can now 'look' [[o)L[[o) over there, re. what we're told is crucial and newsworthy, right now, this weekend.

How's about their failed investigation and repeated visits to the Miami shooter and other warning signs in January etc. they were aware of - yet not follow-up on? What' up with that??

Bust, "Clinton's unsuccessful campaign [[$768 million in spending) outspent Trump's successful one [[$398 million) by nearly 2 to 1. The Democratic National Committee and left-leaning outside groups also outspent their Republican counterparts by considerable margins."The NSA and other U.S. intelligence agencies have an annual budget of over $75B. "Russian information troll farm the Internet Research Agency spent just 0.05 percent as much on Facebook ads as Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump’s campaigns combined in the run-up to the 2016 U.S. presidential election." Amazing! Your Reuters article said that up to 126M people may have seen the Russian troll posts which is the same number of people that voted in the presidential election. Imagine then the impact the combined Hillary and Trump adds that cost 2,000x more must have had. Yet we are supposed to be quivering at what Russia spent? Why did Facebook take the money? Why didn't those intelligence agencies pick up the Russian Facebook purchase, spying in Hillary's illegal server, overriding Podesta's lame password, etc.. with the $75B we gave them? We have this irony of Democrats pretending that Russians significantly interfered with our election [[Ok, maybe they actually believe it.) while trying to maintain legal and illegal open border policies. The numbers here don't make sense. Americans, as a whole, aren't that gullible.
