    Default Michigan 2018 Ballot Initiatives

Thought I would start a thread for this as the process begins to unfold.

Currently there are no certified initiatives for next year.

However, its my understanding that as many as 10 considered to have a decent shot at being on the ballot.

    Possible measures:

    - Legalize Marijuana
    - Make the legislature part-time
    - Regulate how redistricting is done
    - Empower local areas to pass environmental Laws
    - A paid sick days mandate
    - Some kind of ballot on raising the minimum wage
    - Fracking Ban
    - Ending requirements for paying the prevailing wage on state construction contracs

    Time for an update:

Legalizing Marijuana is moving forward as a question.

    Subject to signature verification:

    - Minimum Wage increase is going to ballot which would increase the wage in stages to $12USD per hour by 2022 and index it thereafter, and raise the tipped minimum wage to the same as the general rate by 2024.

    - Paid Sick Leave also set to go forward, requiring 1 sick hour for each 30 hours worked to a limit of 72 hours [[9 sick days) for larger businesses; with a cap of 40 hours for smaller businesses.

    - Citizens Commission for Redistricting is also in line for the ballot

    - Finally, prevailing wage repeal has made it.
