My grandfather Andrew Lorincz who i never met was run over by a Detroit police car in Dec 21, 1927 on Jefferson Blvd in the early hrs while on his way to work at a river rouse carplant. He was standing on an island in the middle of Jefferson Blvd when a police car jumped the curb catching young Andrew underneath the car dragging him hundreds of feet down jefferson. He was a new father and a accomplished musician who played a cymbolm with his band. Young Lorincz played at concerts & weddings on weekends in Delray & Detroit with his Hungarian gypsy music. No one was ever brought to justice for this atrocity. The Detroit Free press published a picture of my grandmother & My mother on the front page who was only six months old at the time. I will post pictures in the future.
