Reputable Eastside/Grosse Pointe Body Shops

Does anybody know of a good body shop on the east side/Grosse Pointe Area? Mrs. Alum has some door dings in her new Yukon and wants to take care of them. Please don't say Ray Laethem as they are the reason why she is looking for recommendations. Thanks in advance for any help.

How "dingy" are they? A friend once took his car to one of those guys that take out door and shopping cart dings without using bondo and paint and it really came out well. Might be an alternative to a body shop. Unfortunately I can't remember where the guy was and my friend passed away.

Buy yourself some dry ice and a pair of welding gloves. Then watch a YouTube video.
It works well.

^^^ I have to agree here. There are many do it your self fixes on youtube especially useful as many components are now plastic polymers and what not!

Yes, Alter Collisions quote was the lowest when I needed work and they did not treat me like a loser because I had an older car. And their customer service was excellent!

Alter collision is a great body shop Family owned and operated. They have done cars for the Chrysler museum and also a lot of local cities and governments. The one brother a DPD officer bikes the Police unity tour from NJ to Dc every year "WE RIDE FOR THOSE WHO DIED" is their slogan. But if you are looking for dings to get removed may try looking for a paintless dent removal specialist. They work magic. I used one once called ding king. This only applies if the paint is good otherwise it needs a body shop.

ct_alum.... my family has gone to Lasko Collision on Harper near Nottingham for 40 years. Granted it's in a rough area... but they have the necessary barbed wire and German Shepherds to keep your vehicle safe at off hours. Worth checking them out for an estimate....

I second this. Our family has taken cars to Fleetwood for decades--nice work, and honest folks to deal with. [[And fortunately, we haven't need to visit often...or at least, since I got divorced over a dozen years ago.

) If I am not mistaken, they are also a "AAA Direct" shop.
