Is anyone else really tired of the endless discussions between people who think everyone should get a pony, and people who want to kill the ponies?

    No.

[[I wanted to respond with a simple "No" but the site requires a minimum 10 word response.)

Garlin Gilchrist II [[candidate for city clerk, not mayor) has some impressive communication skills. At 6'8"[[) he'd be hard to ignore.

He wants to apply his engineering skills to repair the voting system. He's young, motivated and energetic.

    What are his chances?

Do you have hard numbers to back up that claim?

I highly doubt that's still the case in the wake of Autopocalypse.

    You're correct.

I recall hearing a few years ago that Michigan had flipped from a net donor to a net recipient state. And yes, they said "unfortunately" it was because of the poor economy.

Maybe we'll flip back again soon.

Further, how about we teach residents basic financial literacy? Credit? Budgeting Practices? etc.

Again, these are not things that are that difficult for someone generally concerned with the people. But, we know that is not the case here!
How about the new program that offers free college for Detroit high school graduates?

The community colleges offer these type of programs, and they are now free for students graduating from high school in Detroit.

In addition to free community college, the program was expanded late last year to cover four-year universities as well.
