Default Dead and Injured in London, Westminster terror incident

Terrorist rampage: London terror attacker's car speeding along the pavement of Westminster Bridge as one terrified woman JUMPS into the River Thames

    Investigation gathers pace

[[From CNN report) Mark Rowley, the lead officer in the UK for counter-terrorism policing, said hundreds of detectives worked through the night. Their investigation focused on the attacker's motivation, preparation and associates, he said.

"It is still our belief -- which continues to be borne out by our investigation -- that this attacker acted alone yesterday and was inspired by international terrorism," he said. "To be explicit, at this stage, we have no specific information about further threats to the public."

It was the first mass-casualty terrorist attack in Britain since 2005, when 52 people and four attackers died in the July 7 bomb attacks on the London public transportation system.

Rowley told journalists late Wednesday that police believe Wednesday's attack was an act of "Islamist-related terrorism," and indicated they knew the identity of the assailant but were not releasing his name.

Overnight, officers from the Metropolitan Police searched addresses in the city of Birmingham, in central England, and elsewhere and made a number of arrests, West Midlands Police said. "The arrests and searches were intelligence-led and there was no immediate risk to public safety," a statement said.

A UK official told CNN the working theory was that the attack was ISIS "inspired or copycat".

Turkey's Erdogen threatened Europeans in response to Holland kicking out Turkish diplomats '"If you continue to behave like this, tomorrow in no part of the world, no European, no Westerner will be able to take steps on the street safely and peacefully" He told Turks, “Go live in better neighborhoods. Drive the best cars. Live in the best houses. Make not three, but five children. Because you are the future of Europe. That will be the best response to the injustices against you,” he said. Erdogen understands demographics better today's European quislings. BBC hasn't mentioned the religion or ethnic background of the perpetrator; only that he was native-born. Islamic prayers are going to be read in the Vatican for the first time in awhile. The Pope declared, “Islam is a religion of peace, one which is compatible with respect for human rights and peaceful coexistence.” Someday St. Peter's will be a mosque if Europeans remain on their present course.

Closer to home, School officials estimated that 600 to 700 people attended a meeting at a Maryland high school to complain about a 14 year old girl being raped there by two older illegal aliens. The administration defended its policies of opening school doors to anyone who shows up. This is just some of what was in the news just yesterday and people wonder why anyone would have voted for Trump based on immigration policy. Kudos to Donald Trump, Junior who outed London's Mayor Khan's statement that terror was "part and Parcel" of living in a big city.

Update: The Daily Mail claims that the London murderer was not an immigrant but was
"Born Adrian Elms in Kent, Masood had converted to Islam and was ‘on the radar’ of MI5."

I would hope that a horrible tragedy like this would not inspire folks [[especially on DY and within a 24 hour span) to go on far-flung "slippery slope" xenophobia theories [[of Eric Cartman-esque proportions) of where Europe or the Vatican are headed.

Condolences to the friends and families of the victims [[including the tourist from Utah).

The suspect was a citizen and a teacher.http://heavy.com/news/2017/03/khalid...errorism-name/ There have been raids conducted in London and I for one would like to know [[from the right sources) what would that exactly entail. Eight persons were arrested as suspects, one of them was a radical Muslim who-despite being an inciter of terrorist acts-actually had nothing to do with the incident.http://heavy.com/news/2017/03/abu-iz...errorism-name/

The killer and the eight suspects are representive of a whole population of muslim xenophobic assholes themselves that NOBODY wants in their country. Stop them entering America and deport those that are already here [[or send them all to Wahington DC and Hawaii)

Mohammed conquered the Arabian Penninsula in his lifetime. Muslim armies conquered N. Africa and even Spain within the next generation. Muslim armies have advanced to Vienna and Tours, France in the past. Up to 30M people were said to have died in the Muslim takeover of India. More people died on 9/11 than at Pearl Harbor. So no, this isn't a xenophobic theory based on just things the news reported in 24 hours. It is, however not Pollyanna-ish. Xenophobia is an "intense or irrational dislike or fear of people from other countries". Given the history of Islam, perhaps a fear or concern of history repeating itself is not irrational and 9/11 was not something to like. Your expressed hope has been dashed within 24 hours by "Mohammed R. a French national and resident who drove his car through pedestrians in Antwerp. "Just two days earlier, Belgium marked the first anniversary of the attacks in Brussels airport and a metro station, which killed 32 people and left more than 300 wounded."

According to the mayor of London, Sadiq Khan in 2016 this kind of thing is 'part and parcel' living in a big city... Well, OK then.

First off, I'm glad there are no casualties with the attempt at Antwerp [[just as there were foiled attempts with a kid with ties to white supremacist groups-that which represents a group of hostility long since operating in this country and gaining prominence in recent times-handling Ricinhttp://heavy.com/news/2017/02/willia...ch-creativity/, a Jewish kid with a brain tumor downing planes and threatening many Jewish Centershttp://heavy.com/news/2017/03/michae...uspect-israel/, and another kid hoping to perpetuate a crime similar to Dylann Roofhttp://heavy.com/news/2017/02/benjam...photos-record/-all which have happened within the last two years, and not reaching back to things that happened over 500 years ago). EDIT: to add, the man arrested in Antwerp was described as a man with a past history for open drunkenness and drug use and was described as "being on something" during this non-fatal event.http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-39380527

Setting aside Trump and her being being eh' Goebblel-esque what does London do to protect the innocent, all. Ala those just trying to get on with their lives withstanding the standing politic? What consensus can they reach?

What response? Flowers or Fear, Force, Survival? She may have her own issues of supremacy, but are those who take away some agreement with her position questioning this recent violence all racists to want to survive?

    From article:

Because we are not united. We are wrenched asunder.

The patriots of the rest of England versus the liberals in this city. The endless tolerance to those who harm us, [[while the Home Office tries to shift the focus of public fear to white terror) — versus the millions like me who face the truth, with worried families and hopeless hearts, who feel the country sinking.

We are taken under the cold water by this heavy right foot in the south, a city of lead, so desperately wedded to the multicultural illusion that it can only fight those who love the country the most, blame those who are most proud to be British, and shout racist at the 52%.

Prime Minister Theresa May speaks outside 10 Downing St after the attacks. Katie Hopkins says it is time to admit that multiculturalism has not worked.

This place is just like Sweden. Terrified of admitting the truth about the threat we face, about the horrors committed by the migrants we failed to deter — because to admit that we are sinking, and fast, would be to admit that everything the liberals believe is wrong.

That multiculturalism has not worked. That it is one big fat failure and one big fat lie.

President Erdogan of Turkey said there is a war being waged between the crescent and the cross. But he is wrong. Because the cross is not strong. We are down on bended knee, a doormat to be trodden on, a joke only funny to those that wish us harm.

The war is between London and the rest of the country. Between the liberals and the right-minded. Between those who think it is more important to tip-toe around the cultures of those who choose to join us, rather than defend our own culture.

Katie Hopkins says these incidents are no longer unusual, but commonplace

    How many more times?

I guess voluntary assimilation must give people like you some sort of false sense of security.

First off security-for the most part-is an illusion.

Second, I don't make guesses about others with terms worded as "people like you". It's just a respect I show to all people and including you. I'd expect the same respect in return.

Unfortunately, Honky Tonk's entire question is predicated on classifying others as "people like you". It's a belief that "assimilation" means being exactly like them. It doesn't take into account that there's very little shared in which to "assimilate".

Acculturation is often tied to political conquest or expansion, and is applied to the process of change in beliefs or traditional practices that occurs when the cultural system of one group displaces that of another.

Assimilationrefers to the process through which individuals and groups of differing heritages acquire the basic habits, attitudes, and mode of life of an embracing culture.

Amalgamation refers to a blending of cultures, rather than one group eliminating another [[acculturation) or one group mixing itself into another [[assimilation).

The old saying is When in Rome do as the Romans do.

It does not say When in Rome force change among the Romans to mimic where you left.

I is not difficult to understand, why would you want to leave from one country to another in order to create the exact situation that you left.

So the question would be which one of those three, would, say for instance, would Dearborn be in?

If the "refugees" and migrants want diversity and assimilation they could do it in their own countries amongst themselves without all coming together in our space to force it on us.[[assimilation destroys cultures).

We want the immigrants we want, not the ones that come just because they want to.

Most of them don't want to assimilate with us once they're "in", and none of them have any intention of returning to their birthplace because they're not refugees; they're fiscal invaders

It's inconceivable why they should want to come here; with us with having so many of our own people on Welfare that they will have to support.
