Not sure, but the 1949 ones have been stitched together here: http://www.gigapan.com/gigapans/147450
Does this help? I am still accessing them on IE.

I recently had the same question and emailed WSU Library [['ask an archivist'). Here is what they told me:
"Unfortunately, the DTE Aerial Collection is not housed at the Reuther Library. It was part of the old department of Geography and Urban Planning, which no longer exists. I spoke with the folks over at College of Liberal Arts and Sciences [[CLAS) who hosted the project in its early years, and it seems that the project was not included in the new website redesign, so is currently inaccessible.
I am going work to try and get this project out of CLAS [[if they are willing) and hosted elsewhere, but if something like that were to happen, it would be quite some time before it is ready."
Suggest those interested encourage WSU/Reuther Library to get these back up and available to the general public again: https://library.wayne.edu/services/ask-a-librarian

Interesting...just attempted to get in again [[using IE) and still receive a forbidden message:"You don't have permission to access /photos/ on this server."
The librarian had the same issue when they attempted to access it also...
"Unfortunately, the DTE Aerial Collection is not housed at the Reuther Library."
Either that's mistaken, or this is, from http://ask.lib.wayne.edu/a.php?qid=212717
"The DTE aerial photo collection is at the Reuther Archive"
Wherever the collection is housed, I certainly hope it reappears on the web, and with the dozens of bad photo links fixed. In the interim, it would be nice if the website gave more of an explanation than simply "Forbidden, you don't have permission."
How weird! I am still able to get access.
But what an idiotic thing to do! Take it down apparently and not place it elsewhere. They may not think people use it, but it's invaluable tool to some of us out there!
Never mind, when I click into the map and click into a locale, the Forbidden page pops up. Yeah I'm going to write a strongly worded email. Thanks for letting us know!
Thanks for everyone's help on this!
I used the "Ask-A-Librarian" link posted by JMarx above and this is what I was told:
"The DTE aerial collection is not actually part of the Libraries. These were hosted by the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Wayne State. You may be able to contact them about it here: http://www.clas.wayne.edu/"
I have no idea about the accuracy of the information but it did not solve the problem.
The maps are currently accessible to me. I just requested the Internet Archive to archive them. They didn't have them yet, but they're already there now:
http://web.archive.org/web/201702232...ne.edu/photos/
In the future if the site becomes inaccessible we can still find these maps at the Internet Archive. We will, however, need to know the URL where they [[used to) belong.
It's easy to request the Internet Archive to archive a website. Just give them the URL. I suggest this is a useful thing to do for all information we want to stay around. Scientist volunteers made an effort to archive science data available on government websites before the new administration took them down. https://www.wired.com/2017/01/rogue-...te-data-trump/

I was given a new link in a very condescending email I got from CLAS. Try this...?

Update - Emailed the CLAS at WSU and they reached out this morning to say that they have fixed the issue and the collection is back online:

Enjoy! :-)
Thanks to everyone who got on top of this and did something about it.
This means Reuther has the physical collection. They [[and the Libraries as a whole) did not host the material online. CLAS does that."Unfortunately, the DTE Aerial Collection is not housed at the Reuther Library."

The Reuther Library never had the physical collection or anything to do with the project--the librarian who said they did was mistaken. The original project belonged to Geography and Urban Planning and moved to CLAS when the College of Urban Labor and Metropolitan Affairs was dismantled.
