Default Shake shack has arrived / Another New Yorker moves to Detroit

That NYC/DETROIT Thing is still hot and heavy.
shake shack has put up their sign and staked their spot in the city right next door to their NYC neighbor Roasting Plant.
Who will be the next New Yorker to move to the city ?
now if we could only get the L train to downtown Detroit we are in businesses

Relax, it's a fast-food burger joint, spreading throughout the country.

Burgers are pretty good. Overall a bit pricey but fine.

Yeah but they choose Downtown Detroit and not the burbs like cheesecake factory, which also is spreading throughout the county.

Shake shake is awesome, I wanted one in Detroit ever since I had it in Boston in 2015.

Understood , but they choose Downtown Detroit and not the burbs like cheesecake factory, which also is spreading throughout the county.
I've been to several of their restaurants , just good to have a national chain tourist can Id.
I still prefer Mercury Bar burgers , keeping it local.
The burgers and shakes are good the fries are not.
I went to the one in West Hollywood and there is still a line .
maybe this will take the line off of Walburgers?

Grand for those working downtown, needing more places to walk to and eat. Nice to have another venue to consider!

It's cheaper at this location than NYC , but I'd kill for an IN-N-OUT !
One of the things I miss about so-cal

I was watching the noon news today - channel 7 - broadcasting from the "cube". I actually saw the Shake Shake sign in the background. I've never been to Shake Shack. I checked out some of their prices - every bit of $5.00 for a shake, malted - add .50, whipped cream - add .50. I'll try it once.
I'm a Steak and Shake fan.

Danny Meyer is a champ. It's great to welcome one of his establishments, maybe if successful he'll bring a fine dining option.

When is this opening? How are the shakes? They seem to be custard-based, similar to Culver's.

^^^ Yummy, Culver's is good as fast food goes!

I hope no one is confusing this with Steak and Shake which is more like a Denny's or Big Boy. This is a quality product with just a handful of locations. No modern downtown is going to be free from a few chain restaurants, especially in touristy areas, this is great option - even for locals.

I checked the Shake Shack web page, and they show no stores in MI, so I guess we won't have the opportunity to try it locally. Nothing to be ashamed of really; Five Guys closed in West Bloomfield, so fast-food closings happen.

Okay, I had thought it was open already. They won't show it on the website until it's actually open I suppose. My mistake.

No problem. It would had been nice if it had opened during the auto show and Winter blast. War by Parker did not announced their opening until the day before their opening

So, I've only had shakes from Shake Shack but they are probably the best I've ever had from a chain. No, it isn't cheap, but it's also not the vegetable oil, glycerin, whey protein concoction that you get at BK or McD's.
