Largest LED lit city in America? Beautiful night shot of our beautiful international metropolis.
Sure is dark in Lake Erie. That aside; gorgeous shot! Thanks for posting!
That is a great pic . Thanks
It is my understanding that North Korea is in the process of
installing LED lighting so the next photo of the Koreas MIGHT
show contrasting light colors, just as for the Detroit metro;
I use MIGHT because South Korea is just about the fastest
at adopting new tech, so both countries will be LED colored.
[[The Koreas are Exhibit A in the book, "Why Nations Fail" in
which the authors posit that political systems rather than
geographical or cultural considerations are the basis for
prosperity or lack thereof in nations.)
Windsor's LED street lighting can also be seen.

Guess one more thought...that galaxy far, far away and far into in the future
will have its scientist citizens watching in fascination...
Taylor's new LED lights are also visible, albeit barely.

Wow, the Metro Detroit area is massive. Almost a solid blob from Detroit to Ann Arbor up to Pontiac.
Cheat sheet:
Upper right corner is Port Huron. Upper left corner is Lansing, then moving rightwards across the top are Flint and Port Huron. The small blob at the top is either Midland or Saginaw. Below Lansing is Jackson, then Toledo mid-left. The big blob mid-right is Cleveland.
Small blob top far right is London, Ont. Right to left: London, Ont: Port Huron;Flint;Lansing.

And for purposes of our discussions...
I thought I marked Hall Rd
Is the orange line Eight Mile? Or close to it
I'm glad this was posted. I've stared at it for many minutes. I love how much bigger we are than Cleveland. But I'm shocked at how it looks like the lights have gone out in Flint.
More light ≠ bigger. More light = more sprawl, which isn't much to be proud of.
Take greater Toronto, the city Canada loves to hate for its sprawl, with 1 million more people than Metro Detroit. Yet look how much smaller than Detroit it appears on this image.
I'm sorry, as an American, I have no idea where Toronto is on that map.
