    This is an interesting list of cities that have an affordable stock of housing and a fair number of unfilled jobs. It is interesting that the picture for Detroit shows East English Village where the city is making an effort to market foreclosed but quite inhabitable homes.

    Agree. I saw that article and was going to post it.

    It has been my experience that housing costs works for or kills a person financially.

    Detroit area homes might ave. 125K. Silicone Valley is what 750k - 1M for the middle 50% [[25% on either side of the median home value).

    Someone can take an online calculator and calculate the difference between mortgages of say 100K, 250K, 500K and 750K and then 'house poor' comes to mind.
