This incident would not be contained to Chicago. The perpetrators wanted the attention as they put it on Facebook.

Why do I get the feeling this story will go away quickly in the media? If it were 4 white kids doing this to a disabled black there would be a firestorm of protests and media coverage would last for weeks. A CNN reporter said the kids charged were not evil.

^^^ No, this IS not going away, or it would not have gotten this far to have so many discussing it being buried.

This is a national news story beyond the boundaries of Chicago and even Facebook.

Attempts to bury it now will speak volumes on the motives on who is trying to do so.

We watch Ch4 news followed by NBC Nightly news. Over the weekend there was no mention of the incident. Lots of coverage of the Golden Globes though. Not sure of other stations coverage. if any.

Despite happening last year, I only first heard about it this year from other forum sites. It gets nowhere the coverage this incident in Chicago will continue to get.

For those who failed to read it. Despite the obvious racial nature of it, no "hate crime" was applied. Though folks wish to dicker as to whether this is "proportionate" to the political nature and kidnapping of the guy in Chicago, keep in mind this kid was raped with a coathanger, and the persons involved are not being charged with rape as they should. Just another jock exonerated in Spartanical America.

Just proves assholes come in all colors. Don't understand how these people are able to escape justice regardless of race. We seem to be more concerned about ruining the futures of the criminals than what happens to the victims lives. Never heard of the other incident either.
