Disclaimer- I didn't vote for Trump but I'm skeptical of the Russiagate story. I don't have a problem with him attempting diplomacy. I don't want to die in a nuclear war. Why is the media seemingly pushing for that?

The reaction of the U.S. establishment media and several political leaders to President Donald Trump’s press conference after his summit meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday has been stunning.

I am gobsmacked at the behavior of Mr Trump. Russia is not a friend, not an ally, not an country to be trusted.

Russia was only an "ally" because they needed help protecting themselves from China and Japan. Once that was accomplished, they were our enemy again.

I'm glad this finally happened. President Trump approached this summit as some kind of way to clear his name of involvement in possible collusion. The only purpose this summit served in his mind was the legitimacy of his own Presidency. In Trump World, I guess you accomplish this by openly colluding with the Russians at an international press conference. People speculate what was talked about during the 4 hours of one-on-one conversations. Isn't it now obvious ? For most of that 4 hours they discussed the best way to end any talk of collusion by presenting a united front by colluding. Baldacci couldn't make this plot up if he took the bad Woodstock acid. Bringing up 'the server' was his Captain Queeg moment. Where are the strawberries ??? By doing so, Trump inadvertently gave the Mueller probe all the legitimacy it needs to continue. Great job Don....keep up the good work. You're winning....we're all winning !

Keep your friends close and your enemies closer.

No matter how we feel about Russia they are a force with allies across the world,Their technology and nuclear capability matches or exceeds ours.

Sanctions placed on them have proven to be noneffective as the gas pipeline deal with Germany prove, they can simply provide energy to Germany cheaper then a anybody else,if they can do it there they can do it anywhere.

We expel their diplomats, the U.K. expels their diplomats, what exactly did that do,nothing.

They are still a sovereign nation, whether we like it or not.

Indictments have been charged towards Russians, what exactly does it accomplish? They know there is no way they will ever be able to bring them to court in the U.S. so it is easy or safe to charge somebody.

The intelligence agencies all say one thing but this country has a history of the intelligence agencies dropping the ball,Pearl Harbor,9-11,they were warned about the Boston attack by the Russians but did nothing.

Anybody that has served knows full well about the intelligence community and what a crap shoot it really is.

So they say the Russians interfered with the election,no different then what we do across the world along side everybody else, hackers can bounce their trail across the world and even can make something look like it came from a soccer moms computer in Nebraska.

You can allege or say anything you want but at the end of the day you still need some kind of proof and not best guess,do we convict based on best guess?

Russians may have meddled with the system, you can speculate and spin circles or you can find a solution to stop it next time, but next time they or others may still be a step ahead of us.

One also needs to keep in mind that there are other non friendly countries out there that are technology savoy,it is not inclusive to the U.S. or Russia and they are playing games also.

We can use events that have taken place in the past of actions taken by Russian aggression but at the time we did nothing while it was happening, they were begging for defense weapons and some kind of support while we left them on the side lines to fend for themselves.

But yet we now say to Russia you are bad because of what you did,how are we any different,we stood by and watched it happen and the U.S media blacked it out.

We created a Middle Eastern mess that created a refugee crises that impacted the world,we are not exactly the poster child of a perfect world either,Hillary brokered a uranium deal with the Russians through the state department,so previous administrations were conspiring with the enemies as well, but nobody said anything at that time, and when that state did they were quelled.

There is a fine line between agendas and objectives and their use to justify an means to an end.

It's been a long time since I've seen The Caine Mutiny so I had to look that up. In the process I found this brief article that pretty much agrees with you: Trump vs. Queeg: One slight difference. So you're not alone.

We know what drove Captain Queeg crazy. What’s Donald Trump’s excuse?

Lol....thanks for that link. I'm going to be laughing at this comment all day !

Before we get too carried away with Trump/Queeg analogies, please permit me this quibble: Any such analogy is an insult to Captain Queeg."

I find it amusing that with all of the experts out there on how to run a country, only five out of hundreds of millions actually got up there.

The rest just seem to enjoy trying to gain thier fame and fortune of of others coat tails.

Kinda goes back to the whole looking like they are contributing without actually contributing

And the Cold War ended. Why bring it back? It's insane.

Even 10 years ago Bush was palling around with Putin:

Just as when the Democratic Party undermined democracy with Bernie Sanders.

Or the socialist party that has been around for decades.

This country is full of traitors calling others traitors.

"The vast majority of the foreign policy community, the bipartisan consensus said you shouldn't meet with Putin, They also said he shouldn't meet with Kim and this is an extraordinary thing about President Trump that should be lauded and not belittled is that he is willing to meet with adversaries to try to prevent us from having World War 3.""We have to deal with the world as it is, not as we wish it to be, and if we're only going to talk to people who have perfect constitutional republics, we're going to have a very small audience and we're going to have a lot of potential conflicts with no outlet for diplomacy,"- Rand Paul

I'm thinking that the corporate media is trying to play Americans like a violin. Trump stepped over a line by boldly admitting that the U.S is not innocent. Anyone want to disagree with that? He is getting hammered for it. Many on the right and left are concerned about losing face in admitting culpability. Fewer are concerned about peace. Kucinich, Eugene McCarthy, McGovern Nader, Ron Paul got the same treatment for doing the same thing. Its difficult to think of any modern Democrats to put on that list; Tulsi Gabbard and to some extent Bernie.

"[[Trump) has rejected the fundamental premises of American foreign policy since the end of the Cold War and blamed our wretched relations with Russia, not on Vladimir Putin, but squarely on the U.S. establishment." "Trump thereby repudiated the records and agendas of neocons and their liberal interventionist allies, as well as the archipelago of War Party think tanks beavering away inside the Beltway."

Speaking of violins, Democrats in four states sided with the rich accusing Trump's passed tax bill of taxing the rich too much. Its not fair to the 1%.

How does Mueller know 12 Russians hacked the DNC servers, when the servers were never turned over to the FBI for examination?

The actual hardware was not turned over, as it wasn't needed. The same information was captured by a process called imaging. The Democratic Party cooperated fully with that process. In short, the FBI obtained better information from a working network than one that was powered down and off-line. The servers are less important than the methods and means used by the Russians to access the network. That info is located in many other places.

    Yes,I understand the digital footprint.

When a company gets hacked or a financial institution the government finds out about it when the information is put up for sale on the dark web, based on the article they should then be able to follow the footprint back to the originator and arrest them, but they cannot.

A professional state run hack would not forget anything like as mentioned, even more so with regards of useing a VPN,which is the back bone of anonymity on the web.

It is a blatant mistake, forget about whether Russia hacked for a second and think for a moment and for future reference,if you were another country and wanted to do a hack would it be in your best interest to leave a crumb in the footprint in order to divert attention away from you?
