Default Detroit parks, play areas see major upgrades

Of course all the stuff going on greater downtown is fantastic. But it's great to see basic things like this getting done. I've definitely noticed how much better parks have been maintained the last couple years.

Some work has been done to create a new park at the south end of the Fort Street bridge over the River Rouge. The historical marker commemorating the March 7, 1932 Hunger March that led to several deaths will, I believe, be moved to this new park.

Some work was also done near the park under the Ambassador Bridge at the foot of West Grand boulevard

Hopefully this is a sign of "freeing" up money from the "lease" of Belle Isle.
You can do a lot more with several parks than you would've spending the huge amount to keep Belle Isle up.
