NSO – Neighborhood Services Organization; front line warming shelter. For many homeless this is their first stop; NSO has connections and programs to get people into apartments and off the street.
Crossroads [[as listed by the original poster) is another great service. They assist homeless individuals obtain an ID, Social Security card and birth certificate – they provide the necessary payment required for the ID and birth certificate. Any and every program requires those 3 pieces of ID, Crossroads is another lifesaver.
The Mission – a stone’s throw away from the NSO, and another organization that fills a need in the city. Dinner is served @ 5:00pm
Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries – “Providing Hope To The Hopeless”
    Helping them helps all
And the innumerable churches that provide a wide array of assistance on various days of the week.
