Default 7-Foot Water Main Rupture Leaves 100,000+ Without Safe Water in Oakland County

    http://www.wxyz.com/homepage-showcas...water-pressure

A 7-foot GLWA water main has ruptured along South Boulevard between John R Road and Dequindre Road on the Rochester Hills and Troy border. The rupture caused a temporary lake to form.

Residents in western parts of Troy as well as all of Rochester Hills are being advised to boil water before using it. This has left over 100,000 people without safe drinking water.

South Boulevard [[aka 20 Mile) is closed between John R Road and Dequindre Road.

There is an unusually heavy police presence in the area. I personally witnessed four police cars securing the west-end of the closure at 6:30pm today.

Rochester Hills has lifted the Boil Water Advisory. Certain parts of Troy are still affected.
