Default The Free Press Buildings Restoration

Yes. It's Dan Gilbert. It's nice to know that something will be done instead of just hoping.

"A new clue supports the popular idea that businessman Dan Gilbert is behind the Pyramid Development company that recently purchased the old Detroit Free Press building at 321 W. Lafayette."

I believe enormous printing presses were in the basement. Would that feature make it a great location for a data center? Indoor agriculture? Indoor recreation center with climbing wall? Company that makes displays for the auto industry? How could that feature be repurposed?

Well, if indeed Dan Gilbert purchased the building, you can be assured they will come up with a unique design if there is anything salvageable. The Dime Building is proof of that- turning old vaults into conference rooms.

It would make a great parking garage for tenants of the building. We still don't have enough mass transit to reduce the need for parking.

That would make the most sense.
