Michigan National Guard, wins 2016 International Sniper Competition but the picture?

Very impressive win. It's like the Michigan country boys with with their squirrel rifles showed up the big time big city pros.

They won vs 42 teams from the Army, Marine Corps, Army Reserve, National Guard, Department of Homeland Security, and several state police teams, as well as teams from the Australia. United Kingdom, Denmark. Ireland, Canada and Germany. wow

96 hours of competition featured 21 day and night events, a three-mile run with weapons and equipment, an eight-mile ruck and very little sleep, Sgt. Saykham Keophalychanh and Sgt. Nicholas Mitchell of Headquarters Company, 3rd Battalion, 126th Infantry Regiment, out competed 42 other teams to take home the International Sniper Team Trophy.

But what's up with the gun in ear photos? Is the photographer that naive or being deliberately satirical?

lol,maybe they photo shopped a shotgun barrel so somebody would not be traumatized by seeing an actual weapon that would be considered a weapon of death from afar.

They could have at least re-positioned.

BTW I think that is a bull barreled Reminton 700 rifle on the trophy.
