"At the 129-unit Strathmore building in Midtown, all 73 of the market-rate apartments are full. "They leased out before we even opened," said property manager Derrell Jackson. Rates ranged from $950 to $1,100 a month for the one-bedroom units. However, of the 56 units that are set aside as affordable and reserved for lower-income tenants, about 40 remained unleased as of last week."

It looks like a true city apartment structure. Could easily fit in Chicago or Brooklyn, so it's gonna be awesome to have a building of that size back on-line.

Yeah.... it's sucess stories like the Strathmore that really shows the opportunity lost nature of the Ilitch's. Destroyed the 250 suite Park Ave. Hotel, and will be sitting for a long time on the unfinished 150 suite Eddystone.

The Strathmore is completed. Lot's a young professionals had been moving there. It's a place where rich folks can live. Strathmore is the new Park Ave.
Building of Midtown. And the owners are leaving about 40 units are subsidization for poor folks living in welfare checks and food stamps.

It sold out because Dangerously Delicious Pies moved out of Third Street Bar and is going into the ground level there =)

Great rehab project. And same with Mosaic Church next door.

Today Curbed had a story about a new Pure Detroit store moving into the Strathmore. There is a great shot of the building in the article. I never noticed before that the right-hand third of the building seems to be separate from the rest of the structure. Does anyone know why it looks like that?

My guess is that it was an addition and what ended up enclosing the light court in the center of the building.
