The Hazel Park Art Fair is this Saturday and Sunday at Green Acres Park.

We have plans to bike ride on Belle Isle on Saturday. Does anyone know if the boat racers will prevent us from riding on to the island over the bridge? How about parking on the island near the fountain and riding around?

Looks like there's also something called the DirtyBird BBQ on Belle Isle all weekend.

It's been a while since I have been to Belle Isle on Hydroplane race Sunday but the main drawback was slowed traffic particularly in the area of the beach. In other words if you are park on the Canadian side it will be quiet.

I imagine a lot of people will slow down for the pay booths which could cause back up. If you have a state park pass [a little P on your tags] you can simply drive past them, but first timers don't know that.

Best advice is to come early, stay away from the beach and the road along it. There are alternate routes through the forest and center of the island.
