Default Secretaries or admin assistants in the Big 3

Is it common for executives in the big 3 to have personal or shared admin assistants? How high up do you have to be to have one?

At GM, everyone generally from the low-level Executive and up has an assistant, or basically each manager up to 3 levels down from Mary Barra. The managers below that level [[I.E. Directors, Engineering Group Managers, etc.) share the low-level Executive's assistant.

And to put things in perspective, there are typically 5 or 6 levels of management between Mary Barra and the low-level employees [[I.E. Design Responsible Engineers).

I do know they got rid of a lot of the assistants during the bankruptcy. The lower-level Executives just got back their assistants within the past couple of years.

Or you could be a member of the Detroit City Clowncil and have a small army of personal assistants, chauffeurs, bodyguards, gophers, etc. all paid by your tax dollars.

    Relatively speaking, yes.

They qualify for the same bonuses and benefits that professional employees get.
