Mini-Explosion in Eastern Market 07/13/16

Whoa.

Drivin' my honey home from the office tonight, we spotted two Mini Coopers driving up St. Aubin or one of the other streets that lead up from the river. Turned a corner onto Vernor, and saw another.

And another. Every one of 'em, out-of-state plates.

They were all headed to Eastern Market...so I took a little detour back to my old neighborhood to see what was up.

Turns out there is a cult of Mini Cooper owners who are driving across the country, and tonight they are in Detroit. They are everywhere in Eastern Market until 9:30 or so.

Can someone get some pictures? I took a video, but have no idea how to edit it...I'm new to this whole SmartPhone thing.

Geez, they have a 7:30 call in the morning up in Pontiac...they'll be one of the first to drive that new "M-1 Concourse" private race course with the auto-condo-corporatepartycaves.

Fun! Turns out I'm going to St Ignace Thursday and so are the Minis. Guess I'll be seeing a bunch up there. Wonder if it'll be windy crossing the Mighty Mac...

I went to St Ignace Thursday. So did the minis. Friday we all went west on US2. Today, Sunday, we are back in sync. Spoke with a few Mini owners at a rest area in South Dakota. They are hitting Mt Rushmore and Sturgis [[w/o the bikes) tomorrow. I am headed that way, too. Then we will part ways.
