I feel so bad for him. A trailer like that is a beacon 'flashing' high frequency to thieves. Not blaming the victim, but he needed to consider insurance for being on the road with such a rarefied collection.

The airport area would draw transient thieves who feels they would never get caught and could be in any part of Michigan by now. Sad, very sad.

Social media has put him in touch with an insurance agent that is doing something with his homeowners to help with that aspect, thankfully.

Nobody has ill will towards Michigan because it could happen anywhere, still sux though.

There was a BOLO boat that was stolen in Michigan it was tracked via social media through 6 states, average Joes driving down the road and spotting it and the perps were caught.

This stuff is highly specialized and is kinda hard to hide long term.

    Yes, is correct.

Quite common in the south,BOLO are publicly announced via texts, media and highway scrolling billboards and can range from stolen cars all the way up to child abductions,it reaches millions in minutes.

Us somewhat older folk have our own little designation known as a Silver Alert.

I still can't figure out why these out of town folks don't tag their trailers/classic cars with a GPS tracking unit ?

A $150 investment seems small change compared to the loss of valued personal items, band equiptment, and loved family classic vehicles.

If you can wire Grandpa and the dog, the rest should be easy.

Why in the world would you keep Grandpa and the dog in a trailer?

You need a power source for gps, when they steal boats in Fl they bring thier own batteries to bypass the systems.

GPS is kinda like just to make one sleep better at night thinking they are protected.

It does not matter what city or state if they want it they will get it,you really only catch the dumb ones.

I used to build and lease food trucks,100k a truck and had the most sofisitcated tracking systems money could buy, they still disappeared. The key is insurance and more insurance.
