    Default Reconstructing the SMART System...Again.

    Previous attempt: http://www.detroityes.com/mb/showthr...e-SMART-System

Like before, you may know how inefficient the SMART bus system is, but what you may also know is that many SMART routes go all over the place! As a result, I came up with this new map.

I have completely redesigned SMART's route system into a grid system that follows the entire urbanized lengths of streets, in order to accomplish that, again, I opted all remaining Wayne and Oakland County communities back into SMART. I have also cut Detroit routes, except park-and-ride routes, back to the city limits.

For good measure, I've thrown in the Reflex BRT routes, including those not yet announced, as well.

Part of this was based on the BEST State of the System maps available on the RTA website.

And so, here's my dream SMART system map: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1zP...O4&usp=sharing

    Comments and suggestions are welcome.

LOL Have you ever been at Livernois at Dutton? or Brewster and Dutton? It's still dirt! I love that you want to connect the northern part of our metro area, but not every bus line has to do it.

I'd rather not have a bus line contending with I 275. I prefer the existing 805 route.

10 years from now, around when I set this map, given current growth patterns, they'll be paved.

You sure about that? There are still unpaved mile roads in Franklin.

Also, I'd say that route that seems to run from Quarton and Covington down Covington, Cranbrook, annd Evergreen, to Evergreen and 8 Mile, would be an "over our dead bodies" deal for the residents of Bloomfield Village and Beverly Hills.

    No they won't.
