Flex-N-Gate has 2 existing locations [[Purchasing & Forming) in Warren. Will these be consolidating into the Detroit location? If so, I don't see the gain here...

This is great to hear after they unceremoniously gave the city the middle finger when they abandoned their facility at Hoover and State Fair for Warren back in the late 90s / early 2000s.

This is NOT a consolidation but is a new plant with new jobs due to increased business.

WDIV has a clip of the press conference at the location.

"Shahid Khan, a Pakastani-born immigrant, is widely recognized as an American success story. Listed as one of America's 100 wealthiest Americans, he also owns the Jacksonville Jaguars."

I think the writer is paid by the "America."

Must have pulled those bootstraps up way above his head.

    lol.

For every one of these supposed "American Success Stories" there are thousands of people out there working just as hard, if not harder, than folks like this and never get close to the success promised by the flag-wrapped Capitalist Pig Dogs.

LOL, but I think just plain normal jobs would be a good start too!

You'd be amazed what proper financing can do even with limited funds!

Bill Ford's connections with Flex-N-Gate owner help land Detroit plant

Khan, Flex-N-Gate’s owner, said Ford Executive Chairman Bill Ford was the “No. 1 guy” in facilitating the move. Ford is also vice chairman of the Lions, owned by the Ford family.
“I think it started with him,” Khan said today following a press conference in Detroit.
Khan, who has owned the Jaguars since 2011 and also owns a European soccer franchise, said Ford’s push for a Detroit Flex-N-Gate plant showed the “power of football.”

i don't recall where i read or heard this, but i understand the big 3 are putting pressure on suppliers to step up their investment efforts locally. i know that part of ford's billion dollar dearborn investment is intended to 'urge' suppliers to relocate/expand near dearborn..possibly in the millions of square feet of ford space around dearborn that will be available once they consolidate major operations onto their R&D campus #nopressuretho

interesting comments in this crains article from january
