Part of West Village - Parker St Block Party-- Looking forward to the gumbo cook-off at 1420 Van Dyke in West Village this afternoon! Even more anticipating gumbo will be a regular feature over there once Gabriel Hall finally opens.

Not in Detroit proper, but unique enough and close enough for me to make a [[dry) Sunday Brunch exception is the Sunday Market at Thai Temple aka Midwest Buddhist Meditation Center in Warren. Food is mostly northern Thai, somewhat along the lines of what you'll find at Katoi [[if you can get in!) Despite the flyer, hours are realistically more like 10:30-12:30. https://goo.gl/jyb7wx
