  1. Default Now for some good news: Detroit Girls Win National Chess Championship

    A team from University Prep Science & Math has won the under 14 tournament at Chicago's 13th Annual KCF All-Girls National Championships. Anyone familiar with the game knows this is a great triumph of the mind. Congrats ladies and thanks uplifting the D and sporting the "Detroit vs Everybody".

    Che’Rai Laster and Redwan Bin Rouf [[Cass Tech) are two more shinning stars. Laster has accumulated nearly $1 million in scholarships – incredible – and Rouf is heading off to Harvard.

    Love that picture of the champions and their trophies, rocking those excellent shirts. As I understand it, 2 of the main girls involved are twins, including the one who won the crucial final match.
