Default Windmills behind a liquor store at the corner of Gratiot and Chene?

A question for the forum from the DetroitYES email bag.

"I have a question for you since you know so much about Detroit. I was driving home Monday on Gratiot. I was stopped at a light on Chene Street. I happened to look to my left [[west) and saw a bunch of windmills behind a liquor store at the corner of Gratiot and Chene. There must be at least 10 of them. They are all shapes and colors. They look really cool. Have you heard about the windmills?"

    Anybody?

    You mean these?

The windmills are a project of art/design studio C.A.N. Art Handworks.

I believe this is the cat who went by the name Metalworker here in years gone by...he was hired as a consultant to clean up the Spirit of Detroit statue.

He's really gone wild these past few years...I love what he's done with re-purposed DirecTV and Dish satellite dishes. Look closely, that is what the paddles are on a few of those windmills.
