Default Clinton (D) vs. Trump (R): [If the General Election Were Held Today]

Yes, you did just read that. No I don't know what will happen in the primary, especially with Super Tuesday coming up. At this moment though, Clinton is the front runner on the Dem side, and Trump is the front runner on the Rep side.

    What's at stake?
    - Potentially 1 - 3 SCOTUS nominations
    - The fate of the Senate (currently in Republican hands)

    Negatives?
    - Both are upside down on their favorables [Link: Clinton (42% fav/51% unfav) | Trump (34% fav/57% unfav) | Clinton vs. Trump (Clinton: 45% - Trump: 42%)]
    - Trump has taken an excessively hard line against illegal immigration, this may cause him to lose the Latino vote
    - Trump is seen as not presidential and extraordinarily crass
    - Clinton is still battling the email scandal, is viewed as highly untrustworthy
    - Clinton potentially could bring back the 90s era of constant scandals

    Positives?
    Trump is not Clinton
    Clinton is not Trump

    The Question?
Who would you vote for if the general election were held today? You have to pick either of the two, because one of the two WILL be president.

    Okay, your turn.

Like being a condemned man and being offered the choice of being hung or shot..Another opportunity to vote for the one who would do the least damage.

If it makes you feel any better, Chris Christie just endorsed Donald Trump. So there's that.

Still a hard choice to rankle with because we can't really determine which one that would be at this point.

I did Crumble. I pressed 'third' party as a gesture of participation......

Next time add the option of 'Abstaining - Not Voting THIS TIME'

I did, that is the option of leaving the country. Because you will have to leave the country when you explain to people that you didn't vote against whoever won.

HAH! The DMV may be full of folks getting their passport then...... At the local and city level each vote can count literally, so not voting there can really impact an outcome. I vote heavily at that level.

And I respect others choices re. the presidential. Yet in a way I really don't think the individual vote matters there. Yet you're judged as you say as though it does! I have a thick skin, so I suppose I'll endure. And last I checked voting is still a 'private' matter unless you choose to divulge your choice.

I say if you do choose to vote for any of the 'eh, candidates at least don't go thru the mental gyrations to justify that they are the best of, not!

I see Hillary as the lesser of the 2 evils, but I feel like she would carry MI anyway in your hypothetical match-up so I hit third party. Might as well vote my conscience with Dr. Jill Stein of the Green party.

I would vote for TRUMP (any day) to MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN. Repatriate illegals; build a wall; stop muslims entering; retaliate against "partners" devaluing their currency; build up the military; undo all the "hope and change"; attract immigrants with special skills; and so on; all the things we haven't done for decades. Oh, and maybe the best - make it easy to sue the Media for misleading reporting and lying. Oh (again), support the Police against those that expect special privileges.

Well I think those are pretty liberal objectives. I'm getting soft in my old age.

Now we know how how German citizens felt when they had to choose between 1) a government that continually betrayed them destroying their currency serving foreign and corporate interests or 2) voting for a relatively unknown guy who seemed like he was on their side against the establishment but had rough edges. Neither choice is appealing. But who felt worse afterwards; the German voter who maintained their moral purity by voting third party or the voter who voted for National Socialists in the hope that they would make Germany great again? We already know Hillary is a war mongering corporatist and 'corporatist'; the polite term for 'economic fascism'. Donald is an enigma with a murky record . For now, I like the feel of voting third party but realize doing so is copping out for fear getting dirty.

^^^ Interesting points. Daily we're learning more about each candidate, most of it very unfavorable IMO. How does one not 'adapt' their position on whom they will be voting for or not?

Or do you dig in your heels no matter what because you must vote for someone?

What's even more jacked around the water-cooler is that since candidate A is now so horrid, candidate B now shines so brightly; or worse we justify their antics or worldview! This perspective seems to be emerge, particularly when you feel OBLIGATED to vote for one of the lesser 'evils' as it goes. Just an observation.

On the other hand for example, there are those in the Christian and Evangelical community that are saying NO to Trump! This decision busts up the assumption that they'd all follow a republican front-runner around any and every corner. Ummm, No.

So far Trump is leading the DYes poll. If this keeps up on Election Day, well...

Full Disclosure: At the time of this writing, Trump has 3 votes. While it is true that the 3rd Party option also has 3 votes, it's highly unlikely all three people who opted for that choice would be voting for the same person. Therefore, Trump leads.

You do realize we did a currency devaluation in order to spank the Chinese for their little game.

I agree with what Trump is saying and that is scary, almost just as much as his following numbers are.Somebody else in the past gained power by telling a depressed nation what they wanted to hear without any answers, because they were desperate for answers and not solutions.I wonder how well that worked out?

Build a wall? How exactly do you force a sovereign nation to build a wall?

The three votes for Trump are probably by the same person with a few accounts here (hmmmm...who could that be). See how we've been scared into this position. It's bloody manipulative to the end, because it's just a more garish version of what I saw of Obama VS. McCain (and his running mate-ugh. Which reminds me....). It's silly and hard to take seriously. I, myself, feel like I'm being baited into some sort of feedback experiment to comment here. Even John Oliver has gotten jostled by this.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DnpO_RTSNmQ

I would pay very close attention to who they pick for a running mate.

The persons who look at Trump as "murky" (and understatement to say the least) are overlooking that he is choses to be a liar, an undiplomatic loudmouth, an isolationist who appeals to white supremacists (yeah, he just happened to forget that David Duke had just as much a fore-running in politics as he did since 1988-liar or incompetent?), and worse. He may lose the Latino vote and the Women's vote, but ask him on his views of Gay rights (especially after trying to pigeon quote scriptures to make a flimsy point). He is the worst example of a statesman (unless folks really have lost their mind and want the political process to be the garish and epitomized circus that it is-like wanting all religion to be reduced to a cult like Scientology-where the "figurehead" is an inconsistent, braying, lying name-caller with a Pro-Wrestler mentality.); he is more styled to be a dictator-a straight-up dictator, and you either have to be a racially extremist f8ckhead who couldn't cope with the previous President (like with the folks at Daily Stormer), someone so desperate for "structure" they would go along with this, or one with such an imbalanced and manically mindset that embracing oblivion seems like rapture to them.

Speaking of, is he just being ramrodded into place to just fulfill this "Anti-Christ" role that shaky chicken-little dispensational mindsets have been so anticipatory for (licking their lips to "prove the fulfillment of God's plan"-or at least their hack interpretation of it-even if it's a dark and ghoulish lust for the things apocalyptic)? If so, don't be surprised that with all that has been invested into dispensational schemes and routing folks expectations of "things to come" to see reports of manufactured disasters and a "false Rapture" occur (with thousands disappearing-most likely into secret internment camps-from huge revival concerts where no cellphones are allowed, while a strange giddy fog permeates the air that keeps the "left behind" folks susceptible and horrified as they watch reports of "disappeared" names-most of them made up-scroll across the news screen ).....yeah, probably not, but with so much demand on issues in Israel and what has been invested into right-wing dispensational ideology since the 1880's, one can't help but speculate.

This is a man who was attacked by many as far back as the 80's (SNL, Spy, Crumb, Joe Dante etc.) and for good reason. He got to where he was by destroying the lives of many. He is the quintessential "evil businessman" who ruins lives all over. You don't even need a popularaity poll from years ago to determine this. He was a real estate mogul who paved over scores of little people. In George Romero's world he would be devoured by hoards of cockroaches.

I can't take any of this seriously. I really can't I feel I'm being tweaked in a Petri Dish to freak out, and this is about all anyone is going to get from me.

Can't help but notice a very strong influx of the usually typical conservative posters spreading all over DY, whereas they'd been laying dormant for the last month or two.

Clinton, who is the lesser of the two evils.

I would rather Bernie Sanders get the nomination though.

The bolded is probably in their best interest given everything that's unraveling with the Flint Water Crisis and DPS.
