    Default Express Bar on Michigan

Anyone recall going into the Express by Tiger Stadium on Michigan before or after a game?
You could park in the lot or down the side street by the ratty looking park. The place was a dive but a cozy dive at that. Actually skipped a game one time to soak up the atmosphere.
Wouldn't want to make a habit of hanging out there but it was a change of pace.

Turn that camera around to see the rest of the place.
Unless they completely renovated the place, it has a bunch of wood paneling in the back section that makes it feel like someone's basement bar area from the 60's and 70's.

I remember seeing the parking lot attendant there getting beat up one night. Poor guy had his own flag used against him. Police at the White Castle across the street didn't see it and eventually slowly rolled over like Detroit police often do. The Parabox next door was spilling out into the street.

Considering some of the real dives of the skid row variety that once lined Michigan Avenue, I wouldn't call the Express a dive. It's brings dishonor to places like the Crow Bar that were truly dives.
