Words I'm not allowed to say on this forum can't even express moving the Greektown part to the end of the name, as if it's deemphasizing even the neighborhood as a whole.

    Change happens. Get over it.

We don't call places Bombay, Burma or the Soviet Union any more either.

Don't be so fixated on labels. It's not worth the stress or anxiety.

All I can see is a whole bunch of bad puns from the name. You won't win Jack shit at the Jack casino.
I got Hijacked at the jack casino.

Jack doesn't sound like a good name to me, but, then again, I still call it Burma.

The official name really rolls of the tongue, as if it were French:

    Jack Detroit Casino Hotel Greektown

Not joking, that's the real name....

I'm going to start calling it the Jacked casino for short.

All of the news outlets are waiting for the first patron who loses their vehicle at a stoplight on the way home...pun-tastic headlines are being formed already.

"Jack has plans for you, and everyone else in this town."

[[this is for real...not made up...it is the tagline in their video from the DetNews article link)

They renamed a building, they're not kicking puppies. I really don't care about having Greektown in the name, but changed it at least it should be good.

Must have used the same focus group that said New Coke can't miss.

Will they rename the People Mover stop, "The Jack Off"?

Remember when the casino was supposed to enhance and not destroy Greektown? I guess now that Greektown is basically no more, time to cut the crap and rebrand the hotel.

It's amazing that anyone can defend change purely for the sake of change.

How about "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."

I agree with most in this thread. This is the worst idea I ever heard in my life, even worse than Crystal Pepsi or the Chevrolet Corsica.

I wonder how many DPS schools could be repaired with that amount of money?

Or how many pipes could be removed and replaced in Flint with that money?

What the serious F? Who the hell "crowd" did they "crowdsource" to test this idiotic name with? 15 year old boys?

Even if one, for some ridiculous consultant-fed marketing reason, wanted to give your money-soaking machine [[ummm... I'm sorry.... casino) a tough-sounding male people name with "attitude", I can think of about a hundred names better suited for the purpose [[and less likely to make bad vulgar puns) than "Jack".

I mean, that jack-off name is pretty damn jacked-up and sounds like someone who didn't know jack-shit came up with it in order to jack your money off of you.
