    Default black oak arkansas band

    anyone here familiar with them?

i guess they were pretty hot for a touring band in the 70s and early 80s...

They were like the king of opening acts. Seems like I must've seen them 10 or more times at various concerts in the'70s, always opening for someone else. Pretty standard southern rock band really, sort of a cut-rate Allman Bros. or Skynyrd, but their hard-core boogie act worked pretty damn well at warming up a crowd.

I never saw them, they were slightly before my time. I knew someone that had their records though. Here's one of their "hits".

We produced a few shows with them when they were doing their black & blue tour. Black oak Arkansas and blue oyster cult. Pretty average

They were a good live band. I always felt that David Lee Roth copied Jim Dandy's look and moves.
