    Default Descendants of the Highland Park Model T plant employees

    Did you have a family member who worked at the Highland Park Model T plant? A Facebook page has been started for descendants to share their stories of their ancestors work at Highland Park.     Yes, my grandfather worked there [[and Rouge, and Willow Run), beginning around 1920. Don't have any photographs though.

    Mine,also. Started working for Henry in 1915.

    Default 1916 Manchester Road

    Shift change at the Highland Park Plant on Manchester Road 1916. Drive by there today and take a look.

    My great-grandfather was a foreman at that plant.

    Could somebody explain the first picture with the train cars. The balconies that appear in the pictures look like they would be loading docks but how was cargo lifted to that point ??

    This is just a guess but it looks like the top "bridge" may move along tracks.The bridge would attach to the parts from the train cars on the bottom,then the parts would be winched up to the level and location the part had been requested from.
