Default Military Flyovers of Cities a TEST!

They monitor public sites for feedback, judging the populace's reaction.

It is going to be a curious next couple of years, as the hammer starts to come down. This points to the obvious focus our military has upon civilians and their cities.

Another corner turned on the shitty road to totalitarianism. George Orwell...actually Eric Blair...was RIGHT.

Re-read 1984 people, and realize your own damn cell phone is the feedback and monitoring mechanism to Big Brother...

You can certainly CHOOSE to view it that way, if you are so inclined.

To me it is just another observation in confirmation of a previous cynical guess.

Thought about this sort of thing when that plane did the low flyovers HERE a month ago. Our conversation could've made a decent feedback loop to them.

I'm just as happy to be found wrong...that's when I know I've got more to learn.

Some things I hate to be right about. Had more than a few of those.

It takes an iron fist [[aka the military) for the government to impose it's will upon an unwilling American people.

The Russian people never could have guessed that the Socialists were going to execute tens of millions of their own people after they let them take over after the Czars were pushed out of power, did they?

Power is dangerous. It rots the mind.

Bravo Papasito....the constitution is the check on that power, and liberal fascism is an attack on the constitution.

The temporary set of rules put in place to empower our defenses after being attacked on our own soil? That Patriot Act? What about it?

This was spotted driving down Mound road this morning.

Clearly the government is seeing how comfortbale we are with having this be a regular sight. Probably running drills on how to control the H1N1 riots.

We have flyovers constantly here in Miami, fighter jets race in formation over my highrise all the time.

Helicopters are a constant presence as well.

I've also noticed many cameras positioned at intersections and on buildings lately. There is one on the over-street pole that carries the stop lights in front of our condo complex- facing the cars coming out of the complex, not the ones on the street.

Guess the feds are monitioring the comings and goings of the Lorax!

I'm of the belief that the military has been operating with independence and impunity for years now, greatly expanded under the Bush Crime Family, Blackwater, etc.

It makes you wonder if it really matters who's in the White House.

If your rights are slowly chipped away a little at a time you don't realize how much of them have been stripped until it is too late and you don't even have the right to express your anger about your loss. It's coming...and it will be welcomed by most Americans

There is nothing wrong with your television set. Do not attempt to adjust the picture. We are controlling transmission. If we wish to make it louder, we will bring up the volume. If we wish to make it softer, we will tune it to a whisper. We will control the horizontal. We will control the vertical. We can roll the image, make it flutter. We can change the focus to a soft blur or sharpen it to crystal clarity. For the next hour, sit quietly and we will control all that you see and hear. We repeat: there is nothing wrong with your television set. You are about to participate in a great adventure. You are about to experience the awe and mystery which reaches from the inner mind to... The Outer Limits.

I'm pretty sure we went over that spin on another thread recently...

    ...NOT temporary.

not merely a set of rules for defense, either

What is wrong with you, doctor? Better get that checked out.

He appears to be suffering from a severe case of denial, a common affliction among Republicans whenever they consume too much of their savior, Rushies kool-aid.

    Not temporary? Meaning permanent...right? Wrong.

"Doctor, Doctor, give me the news, I got a....bad case of shovelin' doo..."

and the doo doo is courtesy of your posts.

I'll be sure to wear hipboots next time.

With my hipboots and your jackboots, we could make discordant music together.

    a. Sunsetting provisions means temporary.

    b. If it is not reversed, with Democrats in power, who is to blame for it?
