Default 8670 Grand River, Then, When, and Now.

During my Mackenzie High school days [[1950-1954), I worked at Fromm's Hardware at 8670 Grand River. I learned more in that hardware store than I ever did in my subsequent years at WSU. Been a home handyman all my life thanks to employment by the late Eric Fromm and store manager Harold Monk. Anyway, here are three photos. The first from the mid fifties, as I remember it; the second from about 1990; and the last as it is today. I'm sure you'll all agree that the grafitti has just turned it into an outstanding representation of Detroit, won't you?

This is stunning! The only thing I recognize are those classy porcelain tiles along the roofline. They really built things with style back then.
