Default Jefferson Ave. - New bike lanes Alter Rd. to Chalmers

Does anyone know why the bike lanes are immediately adjacent to the curb?

Are cars supposed to park in the wider lane that is outside the bike lane?

That is correct. I am not sure if this project is even done yet. I was under the impression there are supposed to be protected bike lanes. I applaud this and cannot wait to see the end result. If and when this proves to be successful, I hope other areas of the city welcome protected bike lanes.

This is a VERY short distance. Are there plans to extend the new smart road system toward downtown on an immediate basis? You can't really even experiment with this programme unless you make a usable stretch, which 8-10 blocks is NOT.

    How about 5 blocks?
