Default Unbuilt Detroit Sketchup and Cityscape 1.8 Models

Seeing as there have been many "Unbuilt Detroit" threads in the past, but never one in this topic that pertains to Sketchup models, so here it is.

I guarantee you that this will never achieve 100% accuracy!

Original plans for One Detroit Center:

    The 81-story Book Tower:

If you want me to create a model of anything Unbuilt Detroit, go ahead. If you have models of your own of a Detroit building that never saw the light of day, feel free to post them here too.

When time permits, I may even show off a version of the Unbuilt Detroit skyline generated in a program called "Cityscape 1.8," though finding a download link for that program is very difficult, as it appears that it has been discontinued and the company that made that has been acquired.

Do you still say you had nothing to do with those hack models of riots intended to discredit black lives matter, and you promoted here?

Perhaps a few unbuilt expressways? Possibly an elevated highway model down Davidson from 96 to 10

Working on that in that Cityscape Demo program right now, but it won't be elevated.

Here's a list from Curbed Detroit that has 10 developments that were never built. Specifically, the Comerica Bank Tower Headquarters and Kern Block Tower.

And here it is, an unbuilt Davison extension looking east from LaSalle. Those ramps at the bottom are for the Linwood interchange. The neighborhood doesn't look that empty in real life, of course.

I have been looking for this article for awhile, and finally found where I stored it. Long before the debates on the old City Hall in the 1950's there were proposals to replace the original building.

I've been around long enough [[and so has everyone else) to see enough recent renderings that were obviously not for real. Sadly looking back at these historical ones I know that most of those are BS too.

The headline on that City Hall story above misspells the name of the site, which was Grindley Field, the former athletic field of the DAC, which was the big block bounded by Woodward, Forest, Cass, and Canfield. Instead of this city hall complex, Convention Hall was built there in the early '20s.

Here is an earlier thread about another interesting structure that once stood on that site, with some information I posted about the site's history.
