Default 'Band Crew' gang formed at westside Burger King busted

I found this an interesting read for a number of reasons. First it is reported by VICE, not a local news medium, then for its being a snapshot of Detroit's unheralded and amateurish gang scene, compared to say LA, and then for the internet side, using social media to brag about its deeds.

Band Crew, which was assembled in the Fall of 2011 during a meeting at a Burger King restaurant at Seven Mile and Greenfield Road in Detroit, is comprised of smaller gangs, including Young N Crispy, Constantly Making Hundreds — formerly Cash Money Hoes — and FOE Life, which stands for Family Over Everything Love is Forever, according to the indictment.

These satellite crews allegedly left a trail of electronic breadcrumbs for authorities, who said they tracked members as they carried out home invasions, raided gas stations, and assaults, and then intimidated witnesses and victims into staying silent.
Note also that this is a fed bust, not a DPD, and Band Crew is now learning like Kwame did the meaning of RICO.

“…The defendants are all between the ages of 18 and 22, and are charged with conspiracy under the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act [[RICO),and a variety of related racketeering and weapons charges…”

So young to be charged with the RICO Act; they’ll be joining Kwame before to long.

“…accused of committing a laundry list of crimes, including selling drugs, owning machine guns, shaking down kids on their way home from school, and attempted murder…”

    Real class acts

I found it amusing that they're accused of intimidating victims and witnesses to stop them from snitching but then the gang itself goes to the World Wide Web to snitch on themselves.

    Doh!

Now if they could only bust the gang that met under the oaks . . . .

If there is any new gangs and cliques forming in the ghetto hoods in Detroit, they will be stopped and arrested. All of them. One gang member did the crime. All gang members will be hunted down, either be arrested or killed under the Rico Act. They are domestic TERRORISTS. and Americans don't give in to any kind of terrorism.

That's what Detroit Police Chief Goldbee would say.

Phones and internet will get you every time.

I guess the question would be is there a lot of crime and violence created by a few groups or just widespread.

It also seems that gas stations seem to be not a very good place to be around at all.
