Default Beer University Opens in Livonia

"What was your major in college?" "Beer." "Yeah sure. Mine too." "No really."

Since college days and beer go hand-in-hand, why not? What's next, college beer-pong teams?

"Schoolcraft College’s renowned culinary arts department is headed to the bar. The Livonia-based community college is offering a brewing and distillation certificate, starting this fall.

The 24-credit program will train fledgling brewers in various skills with courses like brewing science, brewhouse operations and technology, beer styles and flavors and more.

The college plans to invest $1 million into a seven-barrel brewing system to create an on-campus brewery and lab with a capacity to make 217-gallon batches of beer."

I always wondered how she got approval for that experiment. Maybe she didn't!
