Default Looks Like A Woodward Ave./Brush Park Housing Development Is Planned

    http://www.detroitnews.com/story/bus...ment/28698267/

"Detroit — The once elite and now sparse Brush Park neighborhood, is the target of another multi-million new housing development. It is the third plan in the works that developers say could potentially add more than 1,000 new residents to the historic community just north of downtown.

The Scott at Brush Park is a $60 million building planned for Woodward Avenue and Erskine Street, a site that has been empty and blighted for at least a decade, according to state economic officials."

Another big step to one by one housing developments on Woodward in Midtown/Brush Park.

Still waiting for Woodward/Alfred... Don't know who owns it [[part or all) but it is a whole city block with Woodward frontage.

Glad to see they aren't spending extravagantly to design a unique building, when the same bland modernist design is available from two other projects and shovel ready

Only 2,900 for a 3 bedroom! I know lots of young people don`t want to buy or don`t have down payments but that buys a lot of mortgage.

Isn't this the same project that was announced a couple months ago?

Yes; they were originally calling it "The Erskine Lofts" but now its "The Scott at Brush Park"

Ha ha ha! I was formulating my thoughts ... but your thought captures it so much better!

Brush Park definately needs more concrete bunkers.

In an earlier rendering, the corner of John R and Watson had a parking lot. And in one of the elevation renderings it appears to mention this parking lot but in the current rendering of that side it's just a patch of grass. Also, the underground parking appears to be on the ground level. Will there be underground parking as well?

Unfortunately, Watson Street suffers from this development. Unless something gets squeezed in between the former Ye Olde Butcher Shop parking lot and the Scott's visitor's parking lot?, there will only be a very small portion of residential on this side of the street. Instead of a long L-shaped development that compliments Erskine Street, why not a hammer-head extension on Watson Street.

BTW, why the name change? Who's Scott?
