Default Chicago style thug politics in full force for the nation

Well, how do the libs out there like how politics are played by Democrats in Chicago now that Obama has brought these tactics to the nation? Is anyone, even on the left, not seeing through him? This is going to backlash on him so hard it will make his head spin.

Which thug tactics, specifically, do you reference? Or are you just doing your usual general unfounded and unsupported mud-slinging?

Bingo! it's classic right-wing projection [[hey! we use thug tactics, as per the gnsp guidelines of the 30s, so let's say the dems are using them!)

I would venture to say busing folks across the country to disrupt what should be a meeting between a representative and the residents of his/her district is a "thug tactic", but I don't see CC railing against it. Wonder why?

Why would they be upset with him? He's doing what he promised [[i.e. increasing Socialism in our country). They're rejoicing!

It is to laugh, the next day, after you libs question "which thug tactics" Union plants start accosting citizens peacefully expressing themselves at town hall meetings.

    How's that shoe tasting?

That is kind of cool. Who knew that the Unions would be government stormtroopers. That must of been the reason why they rescued GM & Chrysler.

    Let's see:
    • Government funding and control of the auto industry [[2 of 3)
    • Government funding and control of the banks
    • Government funding and control of Health Care [[soon to increase)
    • An economy that is run by an elite group of former Lehman Brothers' executives that have been given a free reign by our government
    • Government funding and control of automobile purchases, euphemistically known as "Cash for Clunkers"

citizens peacefully expressing themselves at town hall meetings.

Those citizens were not peaceful. They were verbally abusive and loud, and deliberately silenced others. No one could say anything but them. They deliberately tried to throw the meeting off course because they said the Congressman was lying.

The age old tactic to scare debate down is to label someone: socialist, anti-Semitic, communist, racist etc...sad thing is when you need the label applied correctly it has lost it's meaning...and cc is right bullying is universal, but NOT PRODUCTIVE. Usually done by those who lack debating skills

Why don't you include as well our socialist police department, fire department, school system, and other gov't services. We live in a mixed economy.
If you don't like the public health option keep your private insurance - per the health reform legislation.

If the auto industry didn't like the conditions of the loan they didn't have to take it.
If you don't like the conditions for cash for clunkers you don't have to take part.

The time to cry about socialism is when you're forced to take a public option
Last I heard the only two things your still forced to do is die and pay taxes.

Those are good examples of things that can be done by governments at the local and state levels. Health care could similarly be provided at the state level. The 10th Amendment suggests as much. However, you do have to take part if you are a taxpayer or just someone who has an interest in the value of the dollar. Borrowing money from China to give people money to buy Japanese cars doesn't make sense. So far, 53% of all the cars purchased in this program have had other than big-3 nametags. Little, if any, energy is saved. American mechanics are left with less work. The poor will have to pay higher prices for the smaller remaining pool of old cars. Why wasn't $3,000,000,000 spent on domestically GM produced mass transit vehicles instead?

Great one Elganned, at least you admit to be proven wrong.

Socialist Police and Fire departments? Absurd...constitutionally limited enumerated powers of government include defense [[foreign and domestic...therefore police and fire).

    Care to try again?

Just a couple of comments... I like the Kucinich amendment to the house bill where the states can provide a public option. That might be how we get to a universal single payer option... thru the states. If you want a public plan you just move to a state that has it.

I'm troubled by the amount of foriegn automakers getting over in the cash for clunkers, but if they are built in US factories, serviced by US dealers that helps somewhat. An american mechanic working for a Toyota, VW or Kia dealership will still have work, so will the the assembly line worker. But to your main point I agree, the program should have been targeted to GM and Chrysler.

In terms of taking part in gov't programs, even if we don't get any benefit it happens all the time. In Detroit, If I don't like the schools and I pay for my childs education, I'm still paying to fund DPS as well as my childs private education.

Only for the truly disabled should any kind of societally provided solution be considered. Even then, the solutions that would work best would be those that are most centered in the private sector.

Um, I would have to have attempted to make a point in order to be proven wrong. What, exactly, point did I try to make? I merely asked a question.

The chronically poor are truly disabled, but not in any way you would be able to see through your rose-colored Horatio Alger glasses.

Meaning you want to make sure your own cushy high-six-figure income isn't threatened in any way. We understand.

Socialism causes chronic poverty, that is not a true disability as we can reverse it by electing representatives that advocate for individual rights and liberty as the most highly valued core principles.

So you're saying that before "creeping socialism" appeared during the Roosevelt administration, we didn't have chronic poverty? Is that your position?
