The irony of course is that you post this from your iphone, in the poster child of devastated cities category. The devastation and violence far predates the time the Chinese were only riding bikes, and outskyscraping you. Just saying.

If Chump wakes up early enough tomorrow morning, he might be able to finish his great wall. The Chinese have a 12,000 mile long one they started building 2,000 years before the US was born.

Just saying, again.

I would rather build bridges than walls, but if then again, if the US became the 11th province, you might enjoy some of the freedoms you once had…

The Secret Steps To Making A Mega Bridge!

Welcome to our May Flyover Update of the Gordie Howe International Bridge project! In this video, we take you on an exclusive aerial tour of the Canadian side of this monumental bridge, connecting Windsor, Ontario, Canada, to Detroit, Michigan, USA, across the iconic Detroit River.

The Gordie Howe Bridge is set to transform cross-border trade, easing congestion from the Ambassador Bridge and handling up to 25% of all trade between the USA and Canada. With just four months until the expected opening, anticipation is high-even as trade tensions and tariffs add uncertainty to the project’s future impact.

Major milestones are being reached! The tower crane on the 720-foot Canadian tower is coming down, marking a shift from heavy construction to finishing work. The expansion joint is now installed and secured, with concrete work nearly complete.

Both the U.S. and Canadian Ports of Entry are nearing completion, with new agency offices, inspection facilities, and road connections to I-75 and Highway 401. Every system is being tested to ensure safety and readiness for opening day.

How Did They Remove This Giant Crane?

Welcome to the last May Flyover of the Gordie Howe International Bridge project. Great strides are being made in the final stretch before opening this fall. The modular expansion joint is installed on the Canadian side, and the tower crane has been taken down. I’m sure the American side will be soon to follow making the connection from Windsor to Detroit complete! I captured some great footage that can speak for itself, so experience the rest of the video interruption free!

On the plus side, domestically produced agricultural goods should become abundant when farmers are no longer able to dump them overseas. That should make them super cheap here — until farmers can't afford to continue producing them at a loss and go out of business.

So, enjoy cheap soy and porcine byproducts while they last. Yay! Pig snouts, yummy!

Speaking of porcine byproducts, NPR's This American Life just reran an episode of Doppelgängers. They might rerun it tomorrow at 3PM but I don't know that for a fact.

Ben Calhoun tells a story of physical resemblance — not of a person, but of food. A while ago, a farmer walked through a pork processing plant in Oklahoma with a friend who managed it. He came across boxes stacked on the floor with labels that said "artificial calamari." So he asked his friend "What’s artificial calamari?" "Bung," his friend replied. "Hog rectum." Have you or I eaten bung dressed up as seafood? Ben investigated. {26 minutes}
