He was about as useful to the Pistons this year as Gary Shefield was to the Tigers last year. I'm surprised AI doesn't realize that he's starting to really lower his value, which is not good during a contract year.
Hmm, is it really only because of his back? He was quoted in this morning's paper as saying he'd rather retire than come off the bench. Wonder if this is 'temporary retirement' for him? For a while there after he first came here he seemed to mesh well with the team - they had a good run at one point. Then it all went to he##. He turned out to be a failed experiment. Get rid of him and Rasheed and get a quality big man [[if there's one available - a BIG if). Rasheed still hasn't grown up even after all these years. If you can't restrain yourself after all these years when you're making that kind of money playing a game, something's wrong. What says 'me first' more than a guy getting suspended because of technical fouls? Truly ridiculous.
A big if?
Dwight Howard
Chris Bosch
Labron James
Dwyane Wade
all available
It's amazing Iverson lasted this long. The Pistons will do better without him. Glad they can dump him in the off season. Nothing worse than seeing a ball hog growing old.
Tell Iverson to look up so he doesn't get hit while dribbling the ball out the Palace door.
Bosh, like his teamate Bargnani, is very good offensively but very soft on defence. There is a big debate in Toronto if Bosh should be offered max money to stay because he may not be the franchise guy you build your team around. He'd be a great complimentary guy if you have a tough guy to play alongside him but again, he's going to want max money.
Dumars messed up on A.I, not thr first time either- remember Darko?
This AI has just been a stop gap measure. Salary dump at end of year with Wallace following him out the door.
Let's get some adult ball players.
How so ? This was a great piece of work by Dumars. He knew he wasn't going to win this year even with Billips. He picked up AI with the hope he would at least be competitive this year. AI was going to be gone after this year regardless. Dumars wanted the expiring contract more than anything. Now after this year with AI and Sheed gone Dumars has some money to work with to rebuild the team that he knew was overdue to begin with.
As far as Darko yes that was a big mistake but Joe was somewhat new on the job and he had all those European scouts in the front office in his ear having him think European players were the way to go.
