Default Bill Wylie-Kellermann on Gentrification in corktown and beyond

Best article I've seen in Metro Times in a long while. I don't have anything coherent to add, or any solid critique. But it's a hard one to pull only a few paragraphs out of as an excerpt. Just read it.

I read the first part of the article.

One thing I like about some or most development in downtown/Midtown Detroit [[with a notable exception or two) by and large involve buildings which are not inhabited. Hopefully we'll see new construction in Brush Park and around the new arena [[and west of Cass).

I do have real misgivings when the most vulnerable are displaced, probably to their great detriment.

    That is a good article.

Talking about the issue in terms of privilege does seem to clarify the issue.
