Thread: CKLW mp3?

  1. #1

    Default CKLW mp3?

I'm a newbie when it comes to Smart phones..
Can I convert my cklw / motor city drag way mp3's to a ringtone ?
    Thanks for the help.
And I remember when CKLW could be heard in LA.
Now I'm 30 miles away and it can hardly be heard.
Better than the Repub radio on WJR.

Surprisingly, I was able to find the answer by "Googling" the question.

What kind of phone do you have? Android's use MP3's as ringtones, no conversion needed.

A free, open source application is Audacity. Record, crop, export to whatever.

The wiki says yes... gonna need LAME encoder to get around proprietary stuff.

I'm talking Linux based OS. they have no problem with it. It's available in repositories.

I think the easiest way is to play through your computer and record directly into Audacity then convert and export .

Thanx Dan, I run Windows and an ancient version of Nero seems to do the trick Ok. Supposedly some of the newer freeware like Dbpoweramp will work well in today's world.
