RocketFiber: High Speed Internet in Detroit

I was looking up wide-scale urban internet projects when I found a project happening right here in Detroit! Check out this Free Press Article about RocketFiber: a company bringing internet to downtown.

This is so great for the city. Apparently they will be putting WiFi in the schools and on the M-1 Rail. Finally a positive project that will drum up tech business in the D.

A little late to the party.

The project proceeded within the last six months when GOOGLE FIBER indicated Detroit was not on the projected list. The build out is going on, connections are being made direct to buildings now and the "turn on" will be in the 3rd quarter. Very important to the city in general.
