Default Net Neutrality: READY SET GO!!

Um, this new action should be a check against the big ISP's, by the benevolent government. Joy. Against the current 'non-neutrality' [[what does that really mean?) Hah! That's all folks! Just a bit of control of the 'media'......

Why big tech isn't celebrating its big victory on net neutrality

Google and friends aren’t celebrating the big news out of the FCC today.
    Or at least, not publicly.

Not long ago, Google execs would have been popping champagne corks over today’s big news from the Federal Communications Commission. The agency’s 3-2 vote to strictly regulate broadband Internet fulfilled a long-shot push by the company and its allies that started nearly a decade ago.

Indeed, the FCC decision marked a stinging defeat for telecoms like Comcast and AT&T, among the most entrenched and moneyed lobbying forces in Washington. [[see link above for full article)

The Government ain't that great with the whole innovation thing and innovation is what made the Internet what it is today. The average Joe and Josephine are over the moon secure in the knowledge that they can stream their favorite Chuck Norris film, but I get the feeling not all the innovators are convinced sitting on hold with one of those same wizards who built healthcare.gov is a good thing.

Every silicon Valley hot shot is tooling around in their Bentley while Sydney who failed at being a computer hot shot is now employed by the Government. Do you think Sydney might remember being kicked to the curb?

The current regulation regime could be greatly improved. Title II is also not that great. It allows for certain regulations to be in place, but it also allows for regulations you definitely do NOT want. Remember how crappy long distance was before you had unlimited via cell or VoIP services? That's Title II.
